JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Financial Controller’s main responsibilities are to supervise, track and evaluate the day-to-day activities of the Wiener Neustadt and Olgiate, Italy site from a financial and accounting perspective. To be successful in the job, it is key that you are able to evaluate the status of the company independently, through further development and implementation of systems and related procedures for the collection, reconciliation and reporting & analysis of financial information. You will be supervising a small team of three people and you will be working closely together with your peers of other sites in Europe. You will be reporting directly to the Sr. Manager Site Accounting & Reporting Europe.
You will participate in supporting the SAP system set up and take an important role in the supervision of the carve-out, monitoring and safeguarding the opening balances position of these newly established entities. This role will take a lead ensuring that all relevant systems are in place and potential synergies are identified. Your role will be to oversee the future sales agent offices within the European region.
Key responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
- month and year-end process
- inventory accounting
- cash receipts/payment
- general ledger and payroll accounting
- budgeting and expenditure variance analysis
- fixed asset activities
- support for the transfer pricing department
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial statements according to IFRS and Austrian GAAP
- Coordinate and complete annual audits
- Work together closely with our tax advisors on tax declarations and tax audits
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Meet financial accounting objectives
General and strategic aspects:
- Build and develop an effective relationship with the relevant counterparts inside and outside the corporate finance organization
- On an ongoing basis, challenge the current reporting processes status quo to identify improvement opportunities; suggest and support design and implementation of operational improvements that will positively affect upon service and cost performance
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance (or Technical Degree Equivalent)
- 6- 9 years of experience
- Education and background in Finance/Accounting
- Knowledge of IFRS and Austrian GAAP practice
- Accounting statutory requirements (IFRS/Austrian GAAP)
- Computer skills on MS Office and SAP
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise, previous management experience would be preferred
- Fluency in English and German (both written and verbal)
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
