Job Summary

The Senior Specialist, Government Relations will coordinate and drive government and community relations strategies to advance SABIC’s business interests and growth initiatives.  The position will be based at SABIC’s Washington DC office, reporting to the Senior Manager of Government Relations.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Build, maintain, and advance relationships with key federal, state and local legislators, regulators and officials to benefit SABIC’s brand and business interests.

  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies to advance SABIC’s interests on federal and state policy priorities.

  • Represent SABIC in relevant industry associations and business groups to extract maximum value from membership.

  • Manage and implement government and community relations strategies for SABIC facilities, including accountability for visits by federal, state and local officials.

  • Manage compliance issues, including SABIC’s Lobby Disclosure Act (LDA) filings.

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred. 

  • At least ten years’ experience in government relations, or relevant experience in the federal or state legislative arena.

  • Able to work effectively in cross-functional teams and drive alignment on positioning and outcomes.

  • Experience in engaging with senior business and government leaders and delivering added value.

  • Experience in developing and implementing advocacy strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, show initiative, and think creatively.

  • Experience operating in a multi-stakeholder environment, and ability to navigate towards outcomes where stakeholder views may not align.
