Job Summary

The Global Supply Chain (EHSS) Specialist will be supporting the Petchem SBU Supply chain team with providing the Environmental Health & Safety requirements through procedures, guidelines, and consultation along with conducting awareness and training sessions (both for Liquid products and plastics).This person will be an expert in dangerous goods transport regulations (DOT/ UN model regs/ IMDG / US CoastGuard). They will follow up on regulatory developments and keep the SABIC Supply Chain compliant while also ensuring the compliance with local and international requirements, along with Global SC EHS & Sustainability requirements, guidelines, and procedures. This person will be part of a Global Team with focus on EHSS qualification responsibilities for Logistic Service Providers for the AMR region and implement Operation Clean sweep across the supply chain.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Supply Chain Safety Health Environment Rate, Safety and Quality Assessment System coverage or similar local EHSS qualification schemes.

  • LSP self-assessment and external auditing. CDI-T coverage  

  • Report incidents and categorize according to the pre-set criteria for follow-up

  • Analyze incident root cause investigations and close out or escalate as appropriate

  • Follow up local legal reporting

  • Identify and analyze/monitor EHS development needs of logistics contractors

  • Develop/enhance regional supply chain EHSS system and procedures based on Global Safety, Health, and Environmental Management standard, this requires communications and approach with a keen eye for the required standardized result and the resistance to adopt new work processes. 

  • Participate with a team of experts to perform LSP selection and performance monitoring.
     

What Matters to SABIC

  • Bachelor degree of Chemistry or relevant engineering field with strong safety drive and safety background either by education or relevant experience

  • Bachelor degree in occupational safety, health and environment with strong chemical experience, or bachelor degree in marine engineering with safety background and strong chemical experience.

  • Auditor certification preferred

  • Multiple training in EHSS

  • Knowledgeable of the Human Factor Analysis Preferred

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Monday – Friday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
