The Specialist Supply & Inventory is part of Supply Chain Chemicals Operation Europe within the BU Supply Chain and SBU Petchem. Within this department, the Planning & Optimization Team is responsible for the planning and optimization for both the European Chemicals business of our cracker operation and KSA product flows into Europe. The department consists of nine employees.

 

JOB PURPOSE

 

The Specialist S&I contributes to maximizing the business revenues against minimal costs and working capital, by matching the demand with supply capabilities, thus securing an uninterrupted Order to Cash/Purchase to Pay process.

  • Secure supply capabilities containing feedstock, plant capability, stock levels, transport and material handling capacity.
  • Drive the Sales and Operations planning (S&OP) process and as such have responsibility for mid-term securing of product availability, and for working capital (inventory).
  • Continuously improve the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, multi-site production & supply network optimization and optimal stock calculations; and develop best practices for production scheduling.
  • Prepare the monthly Chemicals Europe S&OP and conduct and participate in the Exceptional S&OP meetings.
  • Accountable for short-term product availability (ATP) and closely collaborates with and provides input to the Senior Scheduler Master Production (SSMP).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Guarantee ATP (available to promise, i.e. product availability) for the BU based on S&OP agreed figures
  • Create optimal value scenario for SABIC and enable strategic/tactical decision making with conflicting interests by preparing and acting as key player in the S&OP process of the region.
  • Prepare input for the Sales & Operation Planning meetings as well as maximize damage control by preparing and participating in exceptional S&OP in case of supply/demand anomalies.
  • Execute the integrated optimization of the multi-site assets, which is leading compared to the local optimization of his/her own site
  • Evaluate different feedstock supply scenario’s together with feedstock business
  • Draw up long term supply budget (5 years rolling plan)
  • Co-chair the Weekly Optimization Meetings and Product Flow Meetings 
  • Identify possible bottlenecks in the supply chain, by performing rough cut capacity planning for the logistics assets
  • Define and implement optimal stock levels, based on the agreed service levels for the overall chain; coach Customer Service Officers and Sales Managers to execute these levels
  • Continuous improvement of the planning process (business process redesign projects, pre-marketing/insourced materials)
  • Maintain planning related master data (including system design of integrated planning tool)
  • Execute LP optimization tools (e.g. PIMS)
  • Minimize business impact of plant downtime across sites 
  • Facilitate and ensure alignment and co-operation with other departments


MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Master’s degree in a Technical discipline, Supply Chain, Econometrics or Business Administration
  • Language requirements: Dutch and English, German nice to have
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management
    • Very good knowledge of SAP APO, SAC, optimization tools (PIMS) 
    • Sound technical knowledge of base chemical plants and processes
