Specialist, Treasury Technology

DEPARTMENT 
Corporate Finance. Treasury department.
In Treasury we have in excess of 45 top professionals, across front office, financing and back office. This role will report potentially to the Senior Manager Cash Management and Financial Trading, but to be confirmed. There will be no direct reports.
The Specialist, Treasury Technology will collaborate with IT, Procurement, Controllership, SAP, Bloomberg, FX All and all major global banks that SABIC deal with for cash management.


JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Specialist, Treasury Technology plays a key strategic role within the Treasury function in relation to leading technology automation in SAP, ECC6 and other software applications. This aligns with enhanced functionality through RPA and AI to reduce and ultimately eliminate manual process and deliver the required Treasury reporting that is current a manual exercise in Excel. This role is the primary Treasury technology liaison with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Purpose includes:
1. Lead and manage the group wide Treasury system enhancements.
2. Be the strategic champion for technology enhancement, innovation, implementation and maintenance. Prepare Treasury for S4 implementation in 2/3 years.
3. Be responsible for Treasury Management system (SAP, ECC6) at SABIC. 
4. Manage SWIFT, Web Method, Bloomberg, FX ALL and other applications interface management and enhancement requirements on a global basis.
5. Business partnering with all the teams in Treasury, IT and third party applications.
6. Be the interface with all areas of Corporate Finance to ensure a consistent approach to Treasury automation through SAP ECC6, and tools such as RPA and AI.
7. Mange the technology automation business plan with SABIC and Deloitte leadership.

 

Key Accountabilities are: 

•    Policy Setting
Lead the design and implementation of the Treasury technology strategy and architecture. 
•    Strategic Contribution
- Technology enhancement in SAP ECC6, implementation of better process, RPA and AI
Responsible for technology framework/changes to cash and liquidity management related activities in order to eliminate current manual and inefficient processes.
- Treasury Reporting
Enhancement of current reporting suite through SAP for Treasury and for the Treasurer, Excom, CFO, CEO and Board.

•    Technology Transformation
Become the global Treasury lead for the structure and implementation with regards process and technology advancement to ensure a best in class structure. This will ensure that time consuming, low added value and repetitive tasks are automated. 
The ability to work with internal SABIC stakeholders, both in Treasury/IT and Financial Operations is paramount, to allow for this transformation of repetitive tasks to migrate from Treasury into Financial Operations or other functions, while driving technology through SAP to allow a focused and vision for our structure. 
•    Technology Enhancements 
Lead and develop jointly with Treasury CM and Operations with alignment of Financial Operations and Controllership team:  1. Artificial Intelligence for cash flow forecasting. 2. RPA for low value, high volume, manual transactions. 3. Interfacing with other non SAP related technologies such as Bloomberg or investment and foreign exchange platforms. 4. Ownership of these technology processes and process control framework. 5. In-House banking setup. 6. Virtual bank account management. 7. Payment factory setup.
•    Reporting
Review current reporting process and reporting tools and available reports. Enhance the reporting for Treasury in SAP ECC6 to automate reporting that is available on demand. This will encompass front office reporting for investment and foreign exchange, bank counterparty limits, exception reporting and detailed back office reporting requirements.    
 •    KPI 
Design, monitor, report and evaluate Treasury specific KPI. This will be done independent of the CM and Operations teams to ensure adherence and evaluation to current reporting KPI principles. In addition the role will review the adequacy of these KPI's and adjust and recommend to management as appropriate.

•    Data Verification
Lead, develop and validate the data as input by Treasury and SBUs/GFR&C/SSC as it relates to Treasury data and ensure processes are in place to ensure the data is clean and can be verified by working with other stakeholders to ensure full data integrity.      
 •    Stakeholder Management and Business Partnering
Ensure diligence as the Treasury representative for internal (CM and Operations, IT, Corporate Finance and SBU's) and external (SAP, banks and financial institutions, service providers and regulators) for all Treasury related technology matters. Lead the assessment and evaluation of the optimal technology and process requirements for Treasury. Lead and drive standardization in the team. Engage and communicate to ensure full integration to Treasury vision and policy and be the key lead for interfaces with internal and third party teams and providers. Drive the technology processes through SAP ECC6 towards S4, in particular with AI and RPA to automate repetitive and time consuming manual tasks.

•    Electronic Banking and SWIFT
Ownership of SWIFT interface management into SAP from financial intermediates. Review the cost/benefit of replacing Web Method in KSA with the SWIFT platform. Review the current / future need for using Finastra and the cost/benefit of replacing this provider. Align with internal audit and operations on the ownership, administration, process, controls and maintenance of electronic banking systems.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 
•    University degree in finance and accounting or equivalent. MCT desirable.
•    Minimum 10 years of professional experience in finance roles, including a minimum of 10 years in Treasury functions and Technology  roles
•    Excellent technical knowledge of ERP (SAP ECC6 and S4), SWIFT, WEb Method and Treasury  systems and products, for example, Bloomberg and FX ALL.
•    Treasury experience in cash management and operations with international experience across multiple entities particularly desirable
•    Expertise with system developments projects for SAP and non-SAP systems
•    Experience in risk management 
•    Strong knowledge of business processes and control frameworks
•    Expertise with policies, procedures and best practices in the area of accounting
•    Strong desire to drive organizational climate/culture 
•    Excellent change management skills
•    Experience with external regulations
•    Strong experience with leading virtual teams
•    Experience with leading multifunctional project teams
