TCL Scientist, Analytical Science North
JOB PURPOSE
Provide high quality elemental analysis and spectroscopy analysis support to ensure business continuity through R&D project supporting, customer problems resolving, new test method develop and transfer to MFG, production problem resolving support. New elemental analysis and spectroscopy analysis technique/method research and development, develop and implement new analytical capability.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced elemental analytical and spectroscopy techniques and new analytical methods. Troubleshoot and resolve complex analytical issues. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in elemental analysis and related technologies.
- Provide high quality analytical support to R&D research projects, technical service request cases solving within predefined deadlines and aligned with business needs/impact
- Write and present technical reports and proposals to internal and external stakeholders, document knowledge and share with local and global teams with compliance.
- Ensure that all elemental analysis work is conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards, work with lab scientists and chemists in implementation of EHSS/SHEMs procedures and instrument/tools maintenance.
- New products development projects engagement, analysis needs identification and analysis solution providing.
- Customer and production problems troubleshooting with analytical total solution.
- Interpret complex data sets, identify and exclude outliers and inconsistent data, and draw rational conclusions.
- Develop new methods and procedures and improves and contribute to developing existing technologies, catalysts, products, and procedures with tangible business impact.
- Manage resources and prioritize tasks, effectively communicate with stakeholders to understand their needs, and assess the level of importance and urgency.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- PhD or MS. Degree majored in analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, chemical physicals, polymer/material science, or related discipline.
- Knowledge in statistics and design of experiments is preferred.
- Extensive experience (PhD with 3-5 years’ experience or MS with 6-10 years’ experience) in elemental analysis techniques, including ICP-MS, ICP-OES, IC and XRF
- Spectroscopy analysis experience is a strong plus – FTIR, Raman, NIR, UV-Vis.
- Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and software.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and validate complex analytical methods.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and quality assurance methods.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for elemental analysis in various industries.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Experience in project management and team leadership.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
