Job Summary

The Process Technology Engineer will work on technology development, operations support, customer fulfilment, intellectual property management and competitive intelligence. Assignments may include leading a technology development project, serving on a capital project team, or process troubleshooting/optimization. 

 

This role is on the Technical Career Ladder. Candidates will be evaluated based on their education, experience and skill level and the grade/salary would be determined based on this criteria.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Identify opportunities for productivity / product quality / throughput improvements then develop and implement process technology to achieve these goals.

  • Deliver technical solutions for design and commercialization of new polymers (blends) or processes and/or optimization of existing polymer-based products or processes.

  • Establish partnerships with other technical functions, e.g., product technology, analytical technology, and external providers to gain input on projects.

  • Safely and effectively taking new products/processes from laboratory to manufacturing.

  • Work with Legal to develop and protect SABIC intellectual property (IP) in current and emerging IP landscape.

What Matters to SABIC

  • MS and/or PhD in Chemical Engineering; BS Chemical Engineering will be considered with relevant experience.

  • 5+ years working in the refining / chemical industry.

  • Strength in fundamental engineering principles a must.

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve relevant process technology problems with appropriate use of experimental design/statistical analysis/models.

  • Familiarity with industry practices related to process safety management and pilot plant, lab, and personal safety.

  • Experience with polymer resins processes and products is a plus.

  • Competencies: Project management with culturally and functionally diverse teams, collaboration, effective communication, analytical thinking, innovation.

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Monday – Friday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
