Job Summary
The Maintenance Controls Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing control systems. Candidates will also be responsible for electrical maintenance of manufacturing equipment and support systems within assigned areas. Candidates must safely and effectively troubleshoot and repair designated equipment. Candidates will complete work orders and document findings, actions, and feedback. Candidate will perform preventive maintenance tasks and help identify and implement reliability improvements. Candidate must understand and comply with company safety policies and procedures. Job assignments may include work in Power and industrial Boiler Plant.
How You Can Be the Impact
- Troubleshoot failures and upsets on process instruments, control valves, motor control circuits, programmable logic controller and process control computer hardware and software, AC/DC drives, and other electrical and control systems
- Perform online/offline downloads, tune control loops, troubleshoot and repair issues with programs
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities
- Planning and laying out work, interpreting blueprints, manuals, and other specifications
- Safely use a variety of tools and equipment associated with completion of varied work assignments
What Matters to SABIC
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years as an industrial Instrument and Electrical Technician, with working knowledge of DCS and Allen Bradley PLC controls HMI’s and software
- Advanced electrical /instrumentation degree or experience
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems and Boiler controls
- Working knowledge of fire systems and controls
- Continuously learn on the job and in the classroom as technology changes
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize information and tasks within your assigned area
- Has knowledge and can correctly complete all safety permitting necessary to perform tasks
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form
- Ability to work overtime as required, including call-ins on nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed

Work Availability
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday – Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
