Job Summary

At SABIC, we provide exceptional opportunities for Applied Technology students to spend time doing real engineering work. Whether it’s in Operations, or Reliability, SABIC offers an array of different opportunities to help students develop the skills needed for a career after graduation.  Maintenance interns will work on meaningful preventive, predictive, and corrective tasks that have real impact for the business under the guidance of some of our best senior technicians. During the program, maintenance interns will be assigned to experience the following types of assignments:  Chemical Operations, Compounding or Reliability. Program placements will be based on technical development needs and availability of assignments.      

 

How You Can Be the Impact

Involved in maintaining the mechanical equipment in chemical and finished goods production environments. Our industrial maintenance mechanics are involved in the repair, rebuild and replacement of production equipment in multiple areas. We maintain equipment with preventative and predictive tasks. They have a working knowledge of production equipment including, centrifugal pumps, centrifuges, extruders, rotary lobe blowers, gear boxes, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems plus other equipment. There is working involvement in tasks designed to optimize equipment longevity including lubrication, lubricant replacement, intake air filters replacements, drive belt and chain inspection plus replacement, inspecting mechanical coupling devices, vibration analysis and laser alignment.  Apply skills to lift equipment ergonomically and safely using rigging and powered lifts to lift heavy equipment. Work with a computer-based maintenance system to document work completed on the process equipment.

What Matters to SABIC

  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing an Applied Technology Degree from an accredited college/university with a 3.0/4.0 GPA

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday – Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
