Job Summary

Lead Technology Programs to create and deliver technology solutions, which align with market needs, and drive the growth of the LNP Compounds and Copolymers Business. Actively collaborate with the business team and internal Technology resources to deliver on project milestones and commercialize new offerings. Responsible for technical aspects related to LNP Compounds and Copolymers technologies and products including IP and competitive landscaping, technical interactions with customers and external partners.  Requires knowledge of the applications that utilize (co)polycarbonate and other engineering thermoplastics.  Requires deep understanding of structure-property relationships for different thermoplastic resins, and preferably for polycarbonate copolymers.   


How You Can Be the Impact

  • Identifies new business opportunities and growth areas together with cross-functional teams based on market needs and technology trends, translating the needs into technical programs to meet business objectives.
  • Project ownership & leadership from start to finish. Execute projects by closely collaborating and communicating with T&I teams, cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders and external partners with effective resource management. 
  • Provides technical leadership to continuous improvements in processes that support the design and commercialization of new products
  • Develop and maintain competitive and patent landscapes for Compounded products and technologies, develop and maintain IP protection
  • Ensure activities are compliant with safety, regulatory and intellectual property requirements


What Matters to SABIC

  • Ph.D. in Polymer Science & Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.  An MS/BS in one of these areas with substantial industrial experience in (co)polycarbonate or other engineering thermoplastics. 
  • With at least 1 year of relative experience
  • You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Applied experience in the formulation and application of (co)polycarbonate or other engineering thermoplastics is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Ability to lead & operate in a highly matrixed environment.  
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering patent protected technical innovation and business results
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Outstanding ability to interface and work across functions.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time for training purposes for the first year of employment.
  • Six Sigma (DMAIC and DFSS) training/knowledge are preferred.
