Job Summary

Leads all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security initiatives at a compounding site and serves as a key member of the site’s leadership team.

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Provides strong leadership to drive EHSS strategic/technical improvements and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and SABIC standards (including OMS/SHEMs) for all Site EHSS programs including: air, water, waste, safety, Hazardous Material transportation, security, Emergency Response and Preparedness, Process Safety Management and EHSS Training
  • Provides technical assistance to develop and maintain an effective safety program that is supported by associates and exceeds local regulations, OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Leads site safety, behavioral based safety (SAFESTART), ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene program and wellness committees.
  • Ensures appropriate development of permit applications and implementation of permit requirement; data, reports, records and documents are collected, prepared, submitted and maintained as required by corporate policy and government regulations.
  • Acts as an immediate contact for operators and associates on the shop floor concerning environmental, health, safety and security related needs and issues.
  • Manages large EHSS expense and capital improvement budgets.
  • Participates as a member of site leadership team in moving the organization forward in a progressive environment.

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or another related field
  • 3+ Years experience leading EHSS programs within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental regulatory and compliance legislation and a familiarity with OSHA regulations, experience with Process Safety Management, training integration and cost management
  • Proven track record of injury prevention/control and incident rate reduction
  • Excellent leadership, management and mentoring skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of EHSS processes and programs

 

Desired Skills

  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with EHSS record keeping systems
  • Advanced capabilities with Microsoft Excel
