Job Summary
This position is for a technically strong engineer with effective communication and leadership skills, high energy and motivation. The qualified candidate will be working with maintenance and engineering teams in a plastics resin manufacturing facility with one of the world’s leading thermoplastic producers. The facility operates over diverse assets/machineries with varying degrees of automation and complexity. Equipment include extruders, blenders, packaging equipment, motors, PD blowers, pumps, valves, agitators, dryers, filters, centrifuges, storage tanks, silos, heat exchangers, assorted vessels and a variety of water treatment and ventilation assets, all operating 24/7.
How You Can Be the Impact
- Review inspection reports and the feedback generated from internal preventative maintenance activities. Initiate action to address deficiencies.
- Provide technical support in areas of expertise to troubleshoot and identify root causes of failures and determine best strategy to improve reliability.
- Work with several maintenance professionals/technicians, engineers and reliability specialists to improve their skills in trouble-shooting, root cause analysis, and development of proactive maintenance strategies.
- Lead several on-going Asset Reliability (AR) Work Processes simultaneously – Asset Criticality Assessments, MTA (Maintenance Task Analysis), sporadic or chronic RCA, RCM, etc.
- Develop and assign Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks for equipment without established PM programs.
- Interface with internal and global teams to translate improvements.
- Identify, engineer and implement projects/programs related to equipment and systems to increase plant productivity and reliability.
What Matters to SABIC
- BS in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) with at least 3- 5 5 years experience in similar role or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated interest and accomplishments in improving equipment reliability.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI and AWS standards.
- Working knowledge of equipment maintenance best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple improvement initiatives and complete them efficiently, with high quality, on time, and within budget.
