Engineer, Bamboo Project
JOB PURPOSE
To participate in the detailed engineering design of projects, site construction, manage facility setup, and assist with post-construction commissiong and startup. This involves ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and technical standards while promoting knowledge transfer to manufacturing teams.
KEY ACOUNTABILITIES
- Participate actively in detail engineering design processes, providing accurate technical input and expertise to the Project Management Team (PMT) to ensure design alignment with project objectives, technical specifications, and safety standards.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to identify and resolve potential design gaps or technical risks in a timely manner."
- Conduct regular and comprehensive site inspections during the construction phase and equipment installation activities, verifying compliance with design plans, construction codes, and quality requirements. Address on-site technical issues and coordinate with contractors, vendors, and on-site teams to implement corrective actions, ensuring smooth progress of construction and installation work.
- execute a flawless startup program covering construction completion verification, Participate in PSSR, equipment pre-commissioning, commissioning, and quality checks.
- Lead the setup and configuration of on-site facilities, including QA Labs, project offices, change rooms, and other essential workspaces, ensuring compliance with operational, safety, and logistical needs.
- Manage technical document control, including systematic filing, version control, and seamless document handover/takeover between project phases and manufacturing teams.
- Deliver technical training for engineering staff and operational teams, focusing on equipment knowledge, operational best practices, and project-specific technical requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive safety protocols across new plant, covering Process Safety Management (PSM), electrical safety, machine integrity, and other relevant safety frameworks.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant project engineering experience in [insert industry, e.g., manufacturing, construction, energy, infrastructure] projects.
- Proven track record in detail engineering design, site construction supervision, and project startup execution."
- Proficiency in engineering design software and technical documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, project management software).
- Strong knowledge of construction codes, equipment standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
- Experience in facility setup, document control, and technical training program development."
- Thorough understanding of petrochemical industry, customers, markets and competitors
- Good understanding of key manufacturing and operational processes
- Good understanding of Global and Local EHS Law and Policy
- Proven track record of setting ambitious business targets, consequent execution and delivery of results
- Deep knowledge in SABIC products production process and clear about values and risks for all chemical additives
