Job Summary

The growth ambition is to drive specification and closure of existing and new solutions at OEMs across the Specialties Product Portfolio within the geographical territory. 

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Builds effective relationships with relevant new and existing Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to grow the SABIC Specialties business. 
  • Understands and articulates both short and long-term OEM needs:  including material requirements, application needs, new product introductions and new business opportunities.  Gains credibility across multiple disciplines and OEMs including sourcing, design, engineering, manufacturing and strategic leadership.  Proposes solutions based on OEM needs and SABIC’s Specialty product offerings. 
  • Develops a robust pipeline of new business opportunities at the relevant OEMs in their territory, manages open opportunity pipeline, and drives timely closure to realization of sales.  Collaborates with SABIC’s Account Managers, Distribution Sales Leaders, Global Application Technology, T&I, Technical Development Engineers, and Business Managers to support the specification and design process for new applications.

 

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • BS/BA Degree, Engineer Degree Desired
  • Minimum of 7 years business development or technical sales experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years Specialty Thermoplastics Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Plastics/Materials application experience
  • Self-starter with the drive and passion to succeed
  • Excellent communication and matrix management skills
  • Initiative taking and successful, sustainable new business development track record
  • Creative, out of the box thinker, good at grasping new opportunities
  • Sound technical background, with commercial sense to deliver results
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong collaborative, team spirit. Ability to reach out across organizational boundaries
  • Business Acumen

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday – Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
