Job Summary

Lead all assigned EHSS activities for the Maintenance department and site wide programs and initiatives including, but not limited to training, audits, procedure/policy revision, incident investigations, behavior-based safety programs, and Learning from Incidents sharing.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead all assigned aspects of Maintenance and Contractor safety performance.  Liase with contractor safety representatives. Routinely analyze performance and risk indicators to identify improvement opportunities.  Engage with leadership and the EHSS team to develop and resource action plans.
  • Conduct routine audits for Maintenance and Contractor activities (i.e. Life Saving Rules), areas (i.e. shop housekeeping, fab areas, break areas, etc.), and equipment (i.e. PPE, specialized equipment, etc.).  Analyze data and recommend follow-up actions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all escalated EHSS unit needs and escalate futher to the EHSS team as necessary.  Coach and mentor Unit EHSS Technicians in site policies understanding and application.     
  • Provide ownership for location specific SHEM/OMS sub-elements and policies.  Engage with other locations and the EHSS team to benchmark location specific requirements with an ultimate vision to harmonize to a regional practice.    
  • Lead assigned incident investigations    
  • Lead location specific initiatives and programs to improve safety performance.

 

Job Requirements

  • Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA 10 hour or equivalent certification is required.                                       
  • Minimum of two years of prior experience in a direct EHSS function plus a minimum of five years prior Manufacturing experience is required.                
  • Must possesses a strong working knowledge of chemical manufacturing EHSS related procedures and practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead change.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with math and demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
