Job Summary

Responsible for managing the manufacturing activities in the Functional Forms – Mount Vernon plant. Will lead multiple production areas for different complex extrusion operations like High Optical Sheet or Technical Film extrusion and Film and Sheet coating operations. Drives continuous improvement and cost optimization activities. Directs through subordinate supervisors and engineers the achievement of EHS, production, quality, and employee development deliverables in an effective, timely manner. Drive the Mount Vernon Manufacturing carve out process as part of Functional Forms divesture.

 

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Provides operations and production leadership for the operation unit (8-15 direct reports / up to 110 indirect)
  • Facilitates organizational effectiveness through modeling, reinforcing, and coaching teams
  • Interacts with the business in setting the strategic direction for the operating units including operating parameters and high-level production targets and business rules
  • Identifies and communicates operating unit goals and plans with respect to health, safety, and environmental aspects, unit operations, and technical opportunities
  • Manages units strategic and tactical plans; makes sound and timely business decisions based upon Business and Unit Goals
  • Develops and drives implementation of capital projects that support and advance Business and Unit improvement initiatives
  • Directs personal development and the development of direct reports; sets expectations and coaches team to ensure that they are understood and accomplished
  • Is responsible that the team follows work processes (e.g. ISO 9000, operational effectiveness, EHS)
  • Represents the operational organization towards key customer/accounts with regards to customer complaints and audits; support the commercial team
  • Drives the development of optimized Extrusion processes and line set up, to reach best in class product quality on the global market
  • Balance the different goals within the matrix organization
  • Fast and dynamic business and high NPI rate with industry unique designs ( mainly globally new products to the industry) requires continuous organizational alignment and development
  • Directs the management and prioritization of complex production projects across multiple production areas

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Technical, Chemical)
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in Manufacturing Management/Supervision
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Process Manufacturing industry
  • Vast and in-depth exposure to plant operations (preferable extrusion or compounding operations),
  • Create: reporting and presenting
  • Experience and owning a P&L budget
  • Experience with process and organizational change projects
  • Less than 5% travel
  • Six Sigma trained/certified desirable and Lean Manufacturing experience desirable
