Job Summary

The Senior Regional Buyer will manage multi-regions and support global procurement activities, including executing procurement strategies for single and multi-site/region use.  Transactional activities will be in a magnitude of USD 50-200 million that addresses a wide array of categories and spend.  Portfolio will address all business needs regionally and may include global focus categories as necessary in Direct Materials (raw materials, chemicals, energy, industrial gas, etc.); Indirects (technical goods and services, equipment, materials for operations, back office support agreements, etc.); and Supply Chain (warehouses, logistics, freight forwarding, marine, air freight, etc.).  Focus will be on securing contracts, surety of supply, supplier performance, continuous improvement in the process, and operational excellence in transactional purchasing.  

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Manages the day-to-day procurement needs through the Company ERP system, providing expertise of MM Module and Service Module. 
  • Conducts and/or supports supplier bids and contract negotiations to ensure compliance, and optimizes costs.
  • Partners with other Procurement Team to understand, provide input on design, implement, and manage longer-term strategic supply plan.
  • Creates strategy for and executes the purchasing of goods and/or services. 
  • Oversees monthly, quarterly, and year-end validation of pricing on assigned orders as per established financial practices and procedures.
  • Manages supplier compliance with corporate procurement standards and policies.
  • Analyzes performance of existing regional/global-specific systems, processes, and guidelines, performs required updates, and ensures corrective actions are taken to enable best-in-class offerings within procurement strategy.

What Matters to SABIC

  • Minimum Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Business/Administration/Supply Chain and/or Procurement/related study
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Procurement. 
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing concepts in alignment with specific procurement knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills (interacting with global virtual organizations)
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Good quantitative, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills
  • High sensitivity to cultural awareness and change management
  • Cross-functional / regional experience and the ability to independently manage multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of and experience in petrochemicals: technology, business economics, and market dynamics and value drivers
  • Basic Legal knowledge in relation to contracts
  • Strong Compliance culture
