Job Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic Technician is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of process manufacturing equipment and support systems within assigned areas. Maintenance Mechanics must safely and effectively troubleshoot and repair designated equipment, complete work orders and document findings, actions, and feedback, perform preventive maintenance tasks, and help identify and implement reliability improvements.

Maintenance Mechanic Technicians must understand and comply with company safety policies and procedures. Job assignments may include work in chemical operations and plastic compounding/extrusion. This role requires individuals to have the ability and willingness to work overtime and take call-ins as needed, including nights, weekends and holidays.

 

How You Can Be The Impact

  • Ability to prioritize information and tasks within your assigned area
  • Troubleshoot failures and upsets on plant equipment, including pumps, motors, and rotating equipment
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities
  • Conduct inspections, lubrications, and diagnose trouble sources in machinery and equipment
  • Repair and/or modify or replace new and existing plant equipment and facilities
  • Planning and laying out work, interpreting blueprints, manuals, and other specifications
  • Safey use a variety of tools and equipment associated with completion of varied work assignments

 

What Matters to Sabic

  • Certified Journeyman with a minimum of 3 years of journeyman experience OR
    • 2 year educational certificate/Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance or other relevant course of study and 3 years applicable work experience OR
    • 7 or more years of relevant maintenance experience
  • Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the position
  • Completion of a qualified maintenance training program and 3 years relevant work experience OR
    • Minimum of 7 years relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Must take initiative and demonstrate the desire to learn, develop, problem solve, troubleshoot, and demonstrate analytical thinking
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of safety awareness and accountability in all workspaces

Work Availability
