Manufacturing, Communication Specialist

This role will plan and execute communications strategies for the Americas manufacturing sites including internal, external, crisis, and CSR enablement. This role will also plan regional EHSS communications in the Americas region. This will be done in close collaboration with Corporate Functions, CSR, EHSS, and Legal teams, ensuring full alignment to all global plans/guidelines.



  • Execute defined communications plans/guidelines (media relations, Community relations, CSR, stakeholder engagement) in the region as defined by the Global CC CoEs and Corporate Functions teams.
  • Collaborate with regional Corporate Function teams in developing and implementing the above within the region.
  • Execute Corporate Communications activities for local multi-channel communications requirements (external communications, CSR, internal communications, community relations, opinion surveys)
  • Americas Region crisis communications lead - respond to and consult with site leaders regarding crisis incidents and manage crisis communications training program
  • Act as communications advisor 
  • Collaborate with Sabic Business Units/CF/Manufacturing and EHSS leads when necessary to plan and implement crisis communications within the region in collaboration with Regional Communications Leader, External Communications Leader (if in Region) and Corporate Communications CoE for Crisis Coms in HQ 
  • Evaluate effectiveness of all communications as per effect on brand KPIs within the region and recommend actions based on results 
  • Enhance relations between regional/local communities across the region and SABIC, specifically at local sites.
  • Support on any projects within the region which will require communication support collaborating with global teams where necessary.




  • Undergraduate degree with specialization in marketing, communication, public relations, or journalism
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in corporate communications roles, preferably across multiple geographic regions and business models in complex matrix structures
  • Experience of B2B business, corporate functions, manufacturing and crisis communications experience
  • Ability to monitor activities across organizations and synthesize data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ability to work with disparate global teams and activities
  • Strategic agility and timely decision making but capability to “get the job done”.
  • Ability to act across a complex matrix with global lead functions
  • Strength to say “no” when appropriate  
  • Written and oral communication skills
