Job Summary

Leads the development, delivery, administration, and reporting of all learning programs for Mt. Vernon non-exempt and professional employees.  Builds strategic relationships with regional secondary and post-secondary institutions to build the employee pipeline. Leads a team of 10 individuals.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

(Job Responsibilities)

  • Sets direction with global/regional workforce development team and Plant leaders to align employee development strategies/processes with the Plant business strategy.
  • Building of sustainable, regional pipeline of technically enhanced, production operators.
  •  Assesses and analyzes learning needs and skill gaps based on performance and talent planning with HR to develop and implement cost effective learning solutions
  • Responsible for facilitating the competency process for all roles at the Plant.
  • Secures government funding/grants.
  • Works with HR to develop pre-employment skill requirements and assessments.
  • Assesses and monitors the effectiveness of all learning and development initiatives.
  • Leads the mechanic and electrician federal apprentice program and complies with all guidelines, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversees the development of the hands-on learning center.

 

What Matters to SABIC

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Preferable degrees include Training & Development, Organizational Learning, HR, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive training and instruction experience in manufacturing or the chemical industry.
  • Management experience with direct reports required.
  • Knowledge of securing training grants.
  • In-depth knowledge of Adult Learning Theories, Instructional System Development, Human Performance Improvement and Systems Approach to Training
  • Project management experience required.

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work [enter weekly schedule for position Monday – Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
