The position is responsible for providing overall plant leadership for BPA operating unit.  Owns all value drivers (EHS, Production, Reliability, Workforce Development and Costs) for the unit.  Is responsible for driving strategic improvements across all of the main value drivers to deliver results, utilizing the work processes developed by SABIC.    


How You Can Be the Impact

  • Provide operations and production leadership for the BPA operation with approximately 30 employees
  • Facilitates organizational effectiveness through modeling, reinforcing and coaching team
  • Interacts with the business and site in setting the direction for the operating unit including operating parameters and high-level production targets and Business Rules
  • Identifies and communicates operating unit goals and technology plans with respect to health, safety, and environmental concerns, unit operations, and technical opportunities
  • Own the Unit Technology Plan
  • Makes sound and timely business decisions based upon Business Technology and Unit Technology Plans
  • Develops and drives implementation of capital projects that support and advance Business and Unit improvement initiatives
  • Manages personal development and the development of direct reports.
  • Sets expectations and coaches team to ensure that they are understood and accomplished 


What Matters to SABIC


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Masters Preferred
  • Minimum 5 yrs. manufacturing experience in chemicals/plastics or closely related petrochemicals industry. Broad exposure to plant operations including chemical and compounding operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing, and cross functional leadership.
    Experience working with and interpreting business strategies and developing plans to deliver results.
  • Proven ability to assess talent and build high-performance teams.
  • Experience in leading and coaching experienced cross-functional team.
  • Highly skilled at written and verbal communication at all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of ISO quality standard, Process Safety Management, and advanced manufacturing principles such as Lean manufacturing
