Job Summary

This position seeks high energy, hands-on individuals who are proactive in problem solving and organization to deliver results in support of our technology, manufacturing, and customer issue resolution teams.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

•    Perform extrusion molding and testing (such as mechanical, physical, thermal, and rheological) activities in a lab environment including:
o    Small batch weigh up, blending, and extrusion
o    Injection molding of commercial and developmental materials o    Perform basic troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibrations on assigned instruments and equipment.
•    Use “laboratory information management system” (LIMS) to enter requests and submit materials, obtain work instructions and enter test results, compile and present reports from testing data.
•    Assist in the management and continuous improvement of quality processes and compliance to industry standards. This will include, but is not limited to, updating standard operating procedures related to assigned tasks, coordinating testing, reviewing and understanding ASTM and ISO standards as they apply to testing performed in the lab.
•    Assist in the identification and implementation of projects to improve efficiency and/or install new equipment. Work closely with vendors to develop scope and drive projects for new equipment installations.
•    Initiate discussions with product developers and other requestors to obtain further clarification as needed before extruding/molding/testing, or to communicate results.
•    Maintain the laboratory in according to 5S principles
•    Fully participate in lab safety and housekeeping duties.

 

What Matters to SABIC

•    Associate’s degree in a STEM field or 12 credit in STEM or equivalent
•    General knowledge and experience with extrusion, molding, or lab equipment
•    Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products. SAP and LIMS preferred. 

•    Strong mathematical aptitude
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal and external interface.
•    Attention to detail and organized approach to work
•    Ability to work independently as well as demonstrated teamwork skills
