Job Summary
The technician will work as part of Maxilab operations to develop and implement process improvements, new products, and new processes through operation of the lab, Maxilab and auxiliary pilot plant systems for the SHPP Copolymer business.
How You Can Be the Impact
Primary responsibilities include:

- Conducting pilot plant operations, including but not limited to, preparing formulations, performing reactions, purifications, isolation, and drying of products
- Performing chemistry/engineering calculations, accurate record keeping, recording data and managing spreadsheets.
- Equipment maintenance and trouble-shooting, including work order management, permit issuance, LOTO, line-opening, etc.
- Identification and implementation of new capabilities as needed to support technical programs
- Completing lab analysis as needed for product quality and in support of experimental plans.
- Writing and following procedures as well as active engagement in safety culture, such as participating in PSM (Process Safety Management) and other EHSS activities.
What Matters to SABIC
- Prior experience working in Maxilab preferred.
- College algebra and college chemistry or equivalent credits from STEM related courses desired
- Chemical operations experience required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility in working extended shifts/overtime as needed (days/evenings)
- Ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Demonstrated mindset and ability in taking initiative and being self-motivated.
Physical Requirements: Must pass SCBA fit test and be able to perform physical activities such as lifting 50 lbs.
