Lead all manufacturing responsibilities for the Mt. Vernon, HPP Finishing production area and quality labs.  Leads through subordinate supervisors and engineers to achieve the area EHSS, production, quality, and employee development and performance metrics.  Responsible for the development and execution of compounding strategic initiatives.


How You Can Be the Impact

  • Provides mentorship and reinforcement of the site EHSS expectations that contribute to both leading ( Incident Reports, etc.) and lagging (SHER, Maturity Index, etc.) performance indicators.

  • Provides operations and production leadership for compounding operations units.

  • Facilitates organizational effectiveness through modeling, reinforcing, and coaching teams.

  • Interacts with the business and site in setting the strategic direction for the operating units including operating parameters and high-level production targets and business rules.

  • Identifies, communicates and manages operating units goals and technology plans with respect to health, safety, and environmental concerns, unit operations, and technical opportunities.

  • Develops and drives implementation of complex capital projects that support and advance Business and Unit improvement initiatives.

  • Provides expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards.

  • Oversees the planning and execution of plant outages, minimizing cost and maximizing customer service. Coordinates with Supply Chain on production commitments and inventory build.

  • Liaises and coordinates with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to support and ensure safe execution and smooth flow of the company’s business.

  • Oversees and manages staffing for finishing and quality lab operations.

  • Implements OMS/SHEMs work processes, driving standardized work and organizational structure.

  • Sets priorities via clear work plans and goals and adjusts to changing business priorities.

  • Directs personal development and the development of direct reports; sets expectations and coaches’ team to ensure that they are understood and accomplished.

  • Is responsible that the team follows work processes (e.g. ISO 9000, operational effectiveness, EHS).

  • Represent the operational organization towards key customer/accounts with regards to customer complaints and audits; support the Ultem business team and SABIC affiliates

  • Participates in the Mount Vernon Crisis Management Team as requested

  • Represents local site in regional, global, improvement initiatives, committees, etc.


What Matters to SABIC

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with in depth experience

  • 5- 10 years’ experience in Process Manufacturing industry.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience desired.

  • In-depth exposure to plant operations (preferable in compounding operations), in functions such as EHS, Production, Quality, Finance, People.

  • Previous experience in Management/Supervision desired.

  • Proven ability to assess talent and build high-performance teams.

  • Experience in leading and coaching experienced cross-functional team.

  • Highly skilled at written and verbal communication at all levels of the organization.

  • Working knowledge of ISO quality standard, Process Safety Management, and advanced manufacturing principles such as Lean manufacturing

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work Monday – Friday during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
