Job Summary

Reporting to the Long Sault Shift Supervisor, the General Hand is responsible for maintaining the quality of the material produced and performing required tests. This is a non-exempt, hourly position which will require successful applicants to work rotating shifts - either 8-hour, continental shifts on a 5-day cycle, or 12 hour, continental shifts on a 7-day cycle.

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Good collaboration and team work
  • Pull finished Sheet product from end of production line (lifting/pull weight up to 93lbs)
  • Measure width, length and diagonal of the produced product
  • Check product visually for quality defects
  • Centre finished goods on skids and racks
  • Start and maintain masking position
  • Edge taping
  • Remove trim; place on racks and label
  • Inform forklift driver of masking requirements, rack and skid requirements
  • Adjust trim knives for width when necessary
  • Keep working area clean
  • Cut-up sheets for granulator
  • Fill out Finish Goods label
  • Apply ID stickers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Operate/Troubleshoot Trim cutters and feed trim stock material
  • Drive forklift to load trucks or receive material
  • Hand loads
  • Build skids
  • Granulate trim from the lines into boxes and hoppers

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • Grade 12 diploma or relevant experience

 

Physical Requirements: lifting/pull weight up to 93lbs

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs
