Job Purpose:

Support and assist in performing a broad range of rotating equipment engineering activities covering troubleshooting, equipment performance monitoring, condition-based monitoring, reliability centered maintenance recommendations, and inspection program for critical rotating equipment and associated system. This includes reciprocating compressor, hyper compressors, extruders, and gearboxes lube oil system. Coordinate with operation, maintenance and external support teams to ensure safe, reliable and efficient equipment performance, maintain high availability and preventive actions to eliminate recurring failures and improve overall equipment reliability.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze and troubleshoot the failures of plant equipment and trips occurred and initiate action plans and necessary measures for determining and eliminating the root cause.
  • Regularly checks and reviews the condition monitoring activities of the rotating equipment. Performs and carries out interpretations of such results or findings. Study and analyze vibration data to diagnose problems and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Participates in the execution of plant equipment repair works or overhauls during unit shut downs to ensure the technical quality of the job as per the established standards and given manufacturer instructions.
  • Performs regularly process condition monitoring of the rotating equipment for efficiency assessment. Review machinery upgrades and re-rate.
  • Support planning section during turnarounds to prepare and review the rotating equipment for new/non-routine/specialized SOW.
  • Follow up study & execution of MOC related to rotating equipment and provide necessary support and assistance to expedite and complete related issues.
  • Assists in formulating and developing training program for maintenance personnel and ensure on the job training as deemed necessary.
  • Engages the services of outside agencies/vendors pertaining to additional reliability requirements not available in house.
  • Prepares and submits reports about the condition of plant rotating equipment as directed and required. Verify performance test and analyze deviation from standards and faulty operating procedures.
  • Follow up  and closing  pending open actions of HAZOP / PHA study /RCA/ Incident reports for existing operating plants and provide support and assistance to complete the outstanding issues.
  • Review assigned CoE networking action items and Exxon related to (SMS, TA ,HLV & BP) and ensure quality  implementation of applicable action items related to Rotating discipline through relevant strategies. 
  • As RCA Team Lead: Lead the RCA team to conduct incident investigation and conclude RCA
  • As RCA Team Member: Participate as RCA member & when assigned.
  • Attended FAT/SAT at OEM facility workshop for rotating equipments under new project or capital spare procurement or refurbishment. Witness inspection/Balancing at OEM/ vendors workshop and verify results.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 Years of experience.

 

Job Specific Skills:

  • Expertise and Good knowledge of plant Rotating equipments and monitoring tools/techniques.
  • RCA Membership and Leadership.
  • PHA Membership.
