Job Purpose:

 

To monitor and maintain the department performance at appropriate level including timely delivery of technical support services related to inspection and troubleshooting of electrical system in safe, efficient and cost effective manner as to ensure integrity and reliability of system.

 

 

Job Key Accountabilities:

 

  • To ensure the adherence of UNITED/SABIC safety standards and relevant procedures/ work-instructions during the execution of jobs.
  • To coordinate & ensure the timely technical support services related to power distribution network of the plant and Cathodic protection including HV/MV/LV systems and equipment’s such as switchgears, breakers, transformers, GIS protection equipment and annunciation systems, MCCs, UPS and battery chargers and lighting systems, Transformer rectifier, etc.
  • To ensure the compliance to the authorization of electrical personnel to carry out isolation and de-isolation work.
  • To ensure proper coordination and ensure the preparation and execution of switching plans as per electrical authority matrix.
  • To prepare, review and approve procedure/work instruction/ check list related to electrical isolation and de-isolation work/ maintenance activities, as & when required.
  • To coordinate & ensure the systematic resolution of reported electrical system problems- generally recurring in nature.
  • To direct the study of collected data for any abnormality, correct diagnose the problem and recommendation of realistic solutions.
  • To coordinate with external agencies in technical aspects for major maintenance or repair work on electrical system.
  • To lead the reliability and integrity efforts by focusing on elimination of bad actors.
  • To produce timely reliability & other and other required reports, documenting analysis results.
  • To coordinate the technical evaluation of change proposals from mechanical integrity & reliability point of view.
  • To assist department in preparation of annual maintenance budget.
  • To ensure on-job-training of fresh technicians and engineers.

 

 

 

Minimum Education:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

 

 

Minimum Experience:

 

 

  • 5 Years of experience

 

 

Job Specific Skills/Competencies:

 

  • Knowledge of applicable electrical procedures and work instruction.
  • Understanding of environmental aspects, environmental regulations and legal requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental aspects & impacts - their identifications, monitoring & control.
  • Good understanding of concepts of reliability and integrity.
  • Conversant with relevant engineering standards.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Supervisory and man management skills.

 

 

 

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Sunday – Thursday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
