Job Purpose:

 

Provides RIS Analysis & Reliability related issues to Maintenance, Engineering and Operation disciplines. Also provide support to plant maintenance and operations effectively through various reliability improvement strategies and improve plant reliability, RIS methodology application and profitability.

 

Job Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Working as a reliability RIS team leader in achieving RIS targets. Performing RIS analysis on fixed equipment, pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers & pressure piping. Fulfilment of Reliability Recognition and rewarding requirements.
  • Updating of required plant data in Meridium software to facilitate RIS analysis & measure/monitor the effectiveness of RIS studies and recommendations. Effective tracking proof test tasks implementation and verification of available standard proof test procedure and timely records. Keep track of implementation status of RIS recommendations and report overdue recommendations on a quarterly basis.
  • Managing resources to implement and deliver RIS recommendations with quality deliverables on time to end users. Support & coordinate with other reliability methodologies to achieve the success implementation of reliability program in ARRAZI. Define RIS KPIs to measure reliability performance
  • Assisting in continuous improvement of reliability technology and RIS methodology to fully meet systems quality standards. Also, consult with SABIC ATC to fulfil RIS & SIS latest requirements and close all gaps, if any.
  • Create the RIS business plan & achieve the yearly business target accordingly & ensure full implementation of all RIS recommendation and achieve zero overdue
  • Participate in Company’s activities such as PHA, RCA, Risk Assessment, Company In-house training, Exhibitions, campaign.
  • Work with SABIC ATC and other SABIC affiliate to benchmark and adopt best maintenance, reliability & improvement strategies. Keep up to speed with new technologies and standards related to SIS and its associated instrumentations and adopt as deemed appropriate.

 

  • Review all engineering design packages and provide inputs through proper communication to internal and external customers.
  • Perform all engineering programming tools such as Caeser for piping stress analysis, PV elite for pressure vessel stress analysis, ANSYS for finite element cases to ensure static equipment integrity.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives
  • Explore new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of inspection activity.
  • Implement approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s work programs in line with Company and International standards
  • Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Stationary Section objectives
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function

 

Minimum Education: 

 

  • Engineering Graduate specialized or minimum 10 years’ experience for non-engineers in Instrument/electronic/control or
  • TUV certified FS engineer or expert is preferred.
  • Experience with Meridium`s SIS

 

Minimum Experience: 

 

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in maintenance & technical support services of
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Reliability engineering of Safety Instrumented System ( SIS)

 

Job Specific Skills/Competencies:

 

  • Subject Matter expert in RIS,
  • Thorough knowledge of RCA, PHA, Risk Assessment Methodologies
  • Excellent analytical, impact assessment and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of project development management
  • Knowledge of SHEM
  • Have working knowledge on the requirement of international standards (IEC 61508 /IEC 61511 & ISA 84) for Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and its application in petrochemical plants.
  • Preferred to have participated/facilitated in conducting PHA/HAZOP, Risk Assessment and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
  • Should be familiar in using software tools for Safety Integrity level (SIL) calculation.
    • Strong technical background in RIS methodology
    • Passion for continuous improvement
    • Understanding of plant operations and maintenance as appropriate
    • Strong customer-oriented mindset
    • Leadership qualities (inter-personal skills, communication, conflict resolution, decision-making, judgment.)

 

 

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Sunday – Thursday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
