Job Purpose:

  • Provide practical solution to day-to-day engineering operation problems.
  • Evaluating the unit performance and optimizing plant operation.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Leadership

  • Aware and align all activities towards PK vision.
  • Work to improve the workplace environment and business processes.
  • Demonstrate and looking to be role models in all SABIC values.
  • Assists the department technical manager in all matters related to assigned department i.e. budget preparation, budget monitoring, Objectives, KPI, CBPs preparation and implementation.
  • Close coordination with operation shift groups & EHSS/Quality Coordinator to meet the business requirements.

EHSS

  • To comply with Responsible care and SHEMS / OMS guidelines and correct any deviation as applicable.
  • Ensure safe unit operation as per the regulations of Responsible care & SHEMS regulations.
  • Reinforce and comply with EHSS System and procedures in all related activities.
  • Participate in PHA study for the Department as per the PHA cycles. 
  • Initiate risk assessment report SAFER and complete the process as per SHEM-02.
  • Initiate and complete MOC workflow as per SHEM-09 guidelines.
  • Review SDS for all chemicals used in the area.
  • Verifying and reviewing any Royal commission violations and take the corrective action.
  • Participate and complete the processing RCA study.
  • Create and Review SOP as per SHEM-03.
  • Initiate PSER report and complete the process as per SHEM-06.

Operation

  • Review and audits material & energy balance to identify plant/ process efficiency, Yields & Losses.
  • Preparing the Daily/ Monthly/ quarterly / Yearly production reports.
  • Complete the monthly closing in the SAP.
  • Carry out all the SAP transactions (Purchase Requisition, Purchase Order, Good Receipt and service entry sheet).
  • Assures that the unit is operated within the operating design limits, product quality meets the specification, and corrective actions are taken for any quality deviation.
  • Ensure unit parameters are optimized & follow to achieve plant KPI’s.
  • Participate in all the technical studies and make feasibility studies for the plant projects.
  • Coordinates with supporting Departments to resolve deficiencies/ bottlenecks and improves plant performance and reliability.
  • Monitor and review the sustainability parameters and provide technical solution in case of deviation and issuing the sustainability report.
  • Reviews technical reports / change proposals and vendor reports for implementation towards improvements.
  • Support EHSS/quality coordinator to investigate quality Incidents.
  • Verify the received feedstock, chemicals and products Invoices.
  • Monitor and review the sustainability parameters and provide technical solution in case of deviation and issuing the sustainability report.
  • Monitor the planned specific consumption for utilities and chemical as per target and provide technical solution in case of deviation.
  • Review the plant outage notification.
  • Participate in customer complaints investigation to achieve the customer satisfaction.
  • Reviews technical reports / change proposals and vendor reports for implementation towards improvements.
  • Support SHEM Analyst to investigate QI’s & follow the progress with the staff.
  • Understand current best practices and utilize this to company advantage.
  • Ensure S/D package is made and reviewed.
  • Provide technical support to operation department within HC division.

Interface with supporting departments

  • Carry out all the inspection recommendation in timely manner.
  • Responsible of issuing and processing all the project related, PESR, e-TSR & Engineering request and Communication with vendors (through the PRE-Departments) as applicable.
  • Review and follow up all the action items highlighted by the plant reliability team (PRT) and address all the reliability issue.
  • Verify the PMP incident and initiate the report investigation as pre the incident classification.
  • Participate in the reliability study (RBI RCM, RIS), and implement the recommendations in timely manner.
  • Coordinate to develop plan for implementation of capital items/ projects.
  • Initiate PRE request and to implement the report recommendations.
  • Initiate projects and evaluate its feasibility.

Training

  • Follow the personal IDP plan and complete the process as per competency GAP and align with the TRP.
  • Support the department team to conduct (JQP), PDP & SEeD program.
  • To follow the personal professional development program (PDP) for the new engineers and professionals as per SOP# CGPB-027.
  • Close coordination with training coordinator to meet the training objective.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 3-5 Years of related experience.

 

Job Specific Skills:

  • Capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to continuously drive for process improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong commands of oral and written English.

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Sunday – Thursday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
