Job Purpose:

•          Providing the technical support to the unit operation including troubleshooting, leading brainstorming session and setting properties and direction to resolve the works problem.

•          Responsible in developing unit's shutdown /start up, transition guideline.

•          Monitor and optimize the overall unit performance, raw materials and utilities consumptions consumption.

•          Manage department quality manual and ensure investigations are carried out for any deviation of any quality requirement.

•          Evaluate, and contribute on EHSS and quality training development & Awareness program for all employees and related contractors to ensure compliance to SHEM and minimize risk of accident, injury or damage to equipment and environment.

•          Develop, review, implement and ensure update quality procedures and carry out EHSS studies/ audits.

•          Perform safety evaluation for Operation and Maintenance activities with ensuring that provided.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Assures that the unit operates within the KOP/COP (Key Operating Parameters) limits.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance (SHEM.OSHA, RC, ISO ... etc.). Contributor to the incident investigations as needed to ensure Root Cause Analysis (RCA} and corrective actions implemented to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Employ appropriate Process Safety Management (PSM) systems to meet all process safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular tour in the assigned area to check the area is safe, housekeeping is maintained, and all work activates are performed safely.
  • Coordinate, assist Management of Change (SHEM-09) requirements and implementation, maintain the approved documents & track them to ovoid incompliance to SHEM 09.
  • Leading/Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies & LOPA.
  • Monitor plant performance daily by reviewing process variable trends, operating logs, quality results, KPIs and other sources of data to identify operational issues to meet production, cost and quality targets.
  • Work closely with production engineer, operation supervisor by Provide operational support and troubleshooting expertise to daily operational team for plant problems that occur.
  • Keep plant management and supervision advised and up to date regarding plant and product variables, project and program timetables and other current items of interest.
  • Available on operations control room during start-ups, shutdowns and emergencies. Ensure clear guidelines are deliver to manage and reduce negative impact during interruptions or emergencies.
  • Support to maintain and ensure continuous operation by providing chemical engineering expertise for Turnaround (TA) scope of work development and inspection plan.
  • Monitor chemical additive effectiveness and track chemical delivery.
  • Monitor reactors catalyst performance and issue catalyst life projections.
  • Complete all End monthly closing activity (EMC) on time.
  • Develop budgets plan to meet business requirement.
  • Issue monthly production gap reports (including reasons for gap).
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to daily operational team for plant problems that occur.
  • Provide operational support to project coordinator(s) for specific plant CAPEX project, includes operational review, assistance with cost/benefit analysis and participating in PHA review.
  • Support to maintain and ensure continuous operation by providing operation experience for Turnaround (TA) scope of work development and inspection plan.
  • Communicate to the operations and R&M team and other department regarding any operating activities and problems that may affect the operation of the plant.
  • Represent production unit in SABIC-SHELL technical exchange meeting, share idea, prepare reports and follow up in implantation of recommendations.
  • Forecast production throughputs against SOP and shared it with Planning and logistics department.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering

 

Minimum Experience:

 

  • 5 Years of experience

 

Job Specific Skills:

•          Strong commitment to Safety, Environmental Compliance, Plant Reliability, Production Excellence and personal accountability

•          Proficient in Microsoft Office suite program, SAP, PI and Meridium.

•          Experience in simulation program

•          Excellent in verbal and written communication skills.

•          Good in utilizing statistical tactics.

•          Achieved required competence in SHEM elements as per SHEM-04.

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Sunday – Thursday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
