Job Purpose:
Provides process engineering guidance and technical expertise to operating terminals aiming to achieve a safe & sustained shipping performance including but
not limited to product quality control, optimization, troubleshooting and resolving chronic operating issues.
Key Accountabilities
- Provides technical input in EHSS activities, e.g. MOCs, PHAs, HazOps, PSERs (Pre-Startup EHSS Reviews) and verifies EHSS process related calculations.
- Supports operating terminals in achieving Sustainability KPIs.
- Performs requested studies to assess operating units conditions to improve safe performance and achieve shipping capacity/Targets, through PESR and TSR systems.
- Analyzes new technical developments in process engineering to propose improvements in the existing facilities, as well as focal point for handling process related technical service requests (TSRs).
- Periodically monitors critical operating parameters to asses equipment performance, with respect to optimum operation, and develops operating unit optimization proposals, when applicable.
- Assists terminals in process project activities, i.e. preparation of process related design packages (CDPs), CBP reviews, and related plant process modifications, when applicable.
- Supports terminals in process feasibility studies, PDP, FEED, detailed engineering, execution, run test, commissioning and startup of site projects to ensure proper compliance.
- Involvement, when selected, in Mega projects to provide necessary technical support.
- Participates in terminals operating unit startups & shutdowns, as well as support in investigations of interruptions.
- Conducts studies of process chronic problems and provide short/long term solution proposals.
- Represents SABTANK in licensors, Vendors and other SABIC entities’ communication, exchanging expertise & knowledge in resolving technical problems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
- +5 years’ experience as a process engineer in a petrochemical industry.
- 3 years in petrochemical Terminals.
Job Specific Skills:
- Familiar with international standards, codes and regulations.
- High-level management of process documentation, e.g. PFD, P&IDs.
- Simulation programs utilization experience.
- Sound analytical interpretation and Cost analysis proposals.
- Highly competent in assigned terminal process, troubleshooting, Process equipment.
- Efficiency analysis, and firm knowledge of process control & interlocks.
Job Specific Competencies:
- English Language, Microsoft Office, Effective Report Writing and Correspondence Skills.
- Strong sense of Company Values & Ethics, as well as Behavioral Based safety focus.
- Customer oriented, proper conduct in communication, time management and a mindset towards teamwork.

Work Availability
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Sunday – Thursday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
