Job Summary
The role will be part of the Corporate Finance organization specifically the Global Tax team in the Americas. At SABIC, we provide exceptional opportunities for students focusing on a career in Tax. Our Tax internship is focused on providing experiences that will help you to develop the skills needed for a career in tax after graduation. Time frame for this position is from January 2025 to July 2025.
How You Can Be the Impact
As a Tax intern, you will receive on the job training, as well as exposure to different parts of the Business and the Tax function at our Houston, TX Americas Head Office. Specifically, you will: (1) work cooperatively with the Americas Tax team; (2) analyze issues and work to solve problems related to tax; (3) assist the team with ad hoc tax projects; and (4) help identify and execute opportunities to improve systems and processes.
You will take on a number of challenging projects that will expose you to many different tax related activities, including:
- Attend meetings and calls and work with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings with the opportunity to expand knowledge base and work on a variety of tax-related issues.
- Participate in problem solving activities and utilize research skills. Some writing in support of these activities may be involved.
What Matters to SABIC
- Must be enrolled in a Finance, Accounting, Business, or other undergraduate or graduate degree program
- Preference will be given to those pursuing Juris Doctorate, LLM or other advance tax degree candidates as well as those with prior tax experience
- Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook Software
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills with developing written and oral communication skills
- Highly motivated
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to perform tasks timely and precisely
