Job Summary

SABIC Global Tax is accountable for the compliance, risk management and optimization of positions for all taxes for all SABIC businesses.
Global Tax comprises about 60 tax professionals based in the SABIC Capital head office in Amsterdam and in the regional hubs. The Transfer Pricing function manages regional transfer pricing activities to ensure compliance; supports tax control; and partners with the business to optimize taxation. In addition, the function actively monitors the compliance and efficiency of SHPP’s GEM (Global Enterprise Model) globally through effective GEM / TP review plans and reporting.


How You Can Be the Impact

  • Ensure the company is transfer pricing compliant.
  • Assist Americas Tax team and Global Tax Leadership Team with implementing and enforcing SABIC's Tax Control Framework (“TCF”) for the region.
  • Align with internal (international statutory controllership and treasury) and external (tax authorities) parties at the appropriate levels to support the regional transfer pricing function.
  • Run and maintain the TP operational designs for SHPP's intercompany transactions globally (including BEPS Actions Readiness), in adherence to the documented processes, policies and procedures.
  • Actively monitor the compliance and efficiency of SHPP’s GEM (Global Enterprise Model) globally through effective GEM / TP review plans and reporting. Support the definition of the strategy and the roadmap for SHPP's GEM / TP technology requirements to enable optimal and efficient management of SHPP's Global GEM / TP compliance processes and early identification of planning opportunities.
  • Support the formulation and maintenance of all TP related guidelines and processes for compliance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of an effective GEM policy for all business operations globally.
  • Support the quarterly reports to the Global TP & GEM Lead relating to TP operations and GEM projects globally, including compliance effectiveness, analysis & trends, productivity & efficiency and action plans; SBU partnering & project status, TP operational optimization status and TP management KPI status.
  • Assistance with direct tax related activities as needed.


What Matters to SABIC

  • Bachelor’s degree and MBA, Masters or equivalent degree (accounting or finance) preferred.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, JD or LL.M. in Tax Law a plus.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience indirect tax.
  • Relevant experience within a tax advisory or compliance environment, preferably a combination of experience within a legal or accounting (preferably Big 4) firm and in-house corporate environment (multinational manufacturer a plus).
  • Strong networking skills; confident in ability to add value.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Committed and proactive with a proven focus on deliverables and diligent working practices.
  • Competent computer skills including spreadsheets and information systems.
