Job Summary

The Netback department is responsible and takes care of the financial and non-financial activities related to Netback finance process. The process is unique to SABIC, where HQ buys goods from its Affiliates based on the concept of ‘provisional purchase price’ (PPP), not redefined transfer price. Safeguards daily operations in time and quality. Takes care of daily reporting, analytical and finance posting tasks. Also executes the monthly, quarterly and year end closing activities. 


How You Can Be the Impact

  • Ensure that accounting and reporting of all netback activities is complete, correct and timely, that sub ledgers and general ledger are in accordance with SABIC accounting policies and with procedures and accounting standards.
  • Safeguard and secure the weekly payment SABIC America to SABIC HQ and SABIC Agri-Nutrients accordingly the requirements in the applicable distribution agreement
  • Analyzing, identifying root causes, advice and implement agreed corrective actions related to mismatches between KSA Principal Entities and SABIC America general ledger.
  • Recognize system problems and initiate actions if differences or SAP system problems occur.
  • Secure the day-to-day process will run uninterrupted and the month, quarter and year-end closing process will be perform in time and on quality.
  • Participate as subject matter expert in projects to improve transparency, quality and reliability of the financial and logistical data in a complex systems environment. Examples are:
    • Transcend initiative like implementation new Netback tool and SAPs4HANA.
    • Safeguard also the “future” Netback activities related to GCGV joint venture business.
  • Perform monthly / quarterly Intercompany reconciliation, identifying and solving root causes for non-reconciled items.
  • Responsible for up-to-date standard operating procedures for the own work area.
  • Provide evidence of completeness of sales and cost of sales to external auditors of KSA affiliates for import business.
  • Coordinate and support as Netback America’s focal point of Internal/External Audits
  • Initiation, development and delivery of financial steering information (reporting on financials and non-financials, KPI reporting) to the relevant SABIC America and KSA management and other stakeholders.
  • Analysis of cost and revenue developments is to be carried out correctly and timely.
  • Safeguard that Netback America activities, postings and reports are compliant with the existing distribution agreement and marketing agreement(s) inclusive the amendment(s).


What Matters to SABIC

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  • 7 Years of relevant experience in a finance and control position
  • 5 years SAP knowledge (FI, CO, SD, MM, IM)
  • Prior experience leading teams and or projects
  • Advanced Excel proficiencies including VBA
  • Knowledge around intercompany SD and FI processes and account reconciliation
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Prior audit experience with Big 4 preferred
  • Knowledge of standard accounting practices including IFRS
  • Netback experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work (e.g. Monday – Friday) during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
