Job Summary
The purpose of Market Development Technological Support (MDTS) is to successfully deploy new Agri-Nutrient products to the market. MDTS regional sales agronomist shares this purpose on a regional level with three clear objectives to fulfill the purpose.
1) Conduct agronomic and other trials to provide evidence of new products Value Propositions to support and develop marketing materials for product launch
2) Drive and support business in premarketing and sales to customers of new products
3) Build the capabilities of MDTS, contribute to a shared global agronomy database, provide customer needs identification, support SABIC innovation pipeline and develop the standard process to commercialization.
How You Can Be the Impact

Provide and continuously develop technical research and scientific product development capability. Create the basic materials to support sales (Technical Data Sheets TDS/ Flyers/Brochures/Training (internal and external)

Design and implement and report on field trials for Value Proposition (VP) determination and evidence. Prove the value of the product technically, translate the ROI value to farmer $ and other benefits, prove the premium. Understand the complexity of field trial results and the potential meaning for practical application by farmers. Expertly consider agricultural production and application systems and effect on product development

Support Sales with internal VP training, customer presentations, marketing data, technical data and customer and market engagement on new products. Initial customer offering and product establishment sales.

Contribute to and manage the MDTS agronomy data base (ARM system)

Understand and support the ideation process based on market needs pull) vs Research (push) for product success. Feed the innovation pipeline by understanding and anticipating what the market is seeking or will adopt

Contribute to the development of Business Cases by providing Market Intelligence and customer perspectives to support product development selection in your region

Contribute to the development of Business Cases by knowledge of regulatory requirements and fertilizer production and product trends to build business cases in your region.
What Matters to SABIC
-
Bachelor Ag Science, Soil science, Agronomy.
-
Minimum 5-10 years practicing agronomy in Ag systems demonstrating 1) on farm advice 2) field trial establishment, management and reporting 3) fertilizer recommendations. Minimum 5-10 years fertilizer industry experience in specialties area including 1) exposure to sales and or P&L accountability 2) Demonstrated exposure to product development.

Deep local customer engagement, at senior levels, within the region.

Agronomy competencies with trial / experiment design/execution/analysis/reporting/training/marketing. Strategic selling, funnel and opportunity management, technical sales, MDCS (consultative selling).

Ability to travel 25-50%
