Job Summary

The role is the lead of Controllership Team for India.  India contributes ~6% of SABIC revenue (about ~2 billion) and is known for its fast-changing and complex regulatory landscape, demanding local government and heavy burden of compliance filings.    The role is expected to act as a mini-CFO for India region with following key deliverables:

  • to be the finance business partner to India leadership teams and support RoA controller for its business partner role in RoA region (when India included)
  • to provide governance and controllership assurance to the business
  • to be the focal person of finance in front of internal governance bodies (e.g. board of directors) and external authorities and stakeholders

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Strategic Contribution:
    • Provide governance and controllership assurance to business in India to ensure SABIC economic interest protected, financial reporting standards and SABIC/local compliance requirement followed.
    • Provide business partnering to board of directors and India leadership with timely insightful business analysis to drive meaningful business decisions
    • Participate the strategic projects in India and ensure integrated financial insight and compliance requirement captured in the project
    • Being the representative of Finance to India, lead and coordinate all finance teams to form one finance view to business
    • Support RoA Controller in his/her strategic role of contribution to the business RoA region (when India included)"                                                                  
  • Governance and Controllership
    • Lead the internal control and global/statutory finance compliance process in India and the management of finance risks to India leadership
    • Understand the complex and fast-changing regulatory landscape in India, take the lead to ensure the regulatory compliance of India business and translate the regulatory requirement into business                                                 
  • Legal Entity Business Partnering
    • Lead and Represent Finance to the governance body in India (4 legal entities in total) and provide necessary finance business partnering support
    • Lead and Provide financial advisory to the leadership of India
    • Accommodate complementary structure to EPM and liaise with regional management, analyze and track legal entity performance                                                          
  • Financial Closing and Reporting
    • Lead the process to provide quality assurance for the financials of the entities of India
    • Lead the process to ensure on-time and high-quality group and statutory financial reporting, including external auditors' verification
    • Monitor the financial operation and closing process and provide necessary advise and support                                                 
  • Finance Projects:
    • Lead and Support global corporate finance porjects in India (e.g. GEM review, Scout and etc)
    • Lead controllership enhancement projects in India                                                           
  • Finance Representative and Stakeholder management
    • Represent Finance in India for external authorities and stakeholders and maintain healthy relationship
    • Represent Corporate Finance in India for internal cross-function teams
    • Be the controllership gate keeper and perform required finance authority activities (e.g. financial sign-off, contract review, company chop and etc)           
  • People management
    • Manage the performance of the India controllership team, manage necessary coaching and trainings to develop the team
    • Recruit, develop and retain a healthy talent pool for India controllership team
    • Participate regional talent committee to drive the healthy growth and development of regional finance talents

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • 15+ years working experience in Finance and Accounting including general ledger closing and legal entity reporting
  • 10+ years in management position
  • Manufacturing experiences is requried, Chemical Industry is a plus
  • Minimum university degree in accounting and finance
  • Completion of post-graduate executive programs in areas which include CA,CMA, preferably CA.
  • Broad and excellent knowledge of fiscal /legal / governance requirements and business processes
  • Broad and excellent knowledge of business administration/accounting requirements (IFRS)
  • Experiences of managing finance talents in multi-year strategic projects
  • Job experiences with Big 4 firms
