The success of the customer is the success of SABIC. Cluster Polyethylene has two units, LDPE and HDPE.

The cluster HDPE operates three plants, LD3, LD4 and UHPE (AVIENT). The cluster LDPE operates two plants, S16 and S17. In both clusters, different HDPE, UHPE and LDPE grades are produced.

The department Operations is responsible for safe and reliable producing prime quality products according to plan within our budget.

Within PE you will work together with about 135 colleagues in operations and you will report directly to the senior manager operations.

In this role you will work in close cooperation with the technical, maintenance and the supply chain department. You are a part of the Plant Management Team.

 

Job Summary

Drive Excellence in Operations

  • Run the Operations department within the currently defined operating window & design and in accordance with defined operating best practice to achieve the required operational reliability, efficiency, and quality & EHS performance;
  • Managing, coaching and developing employees and securing the required quantitative and qualitative of personnel in the department Operations: Shift Supervisors, Sr. Analyst UHPE, Process Trainers;
  • Defining and realizing the Operations targets, short term and long term (business budget plan)

Managing Work Processes

  • Operate Plant, Shut Down, Startup, Asset Utilization, MoC and Asset Performance Management.
  • Managing the activities related to Turnarounds to be carried out by the production department.
  • Managing the interfaces between Operations, Maintenance and Supply Chain Management.
  • Responsible for day-to-day alignment with SCM about volumes, stops, quality.
  • Member of the Talent Community Operations
  • Sub Element Lead of differentOMS elements as part of the management system

 

How You Can Be the Impact

  • Responsible for day-to-day safety in the plant.
  • Responsible for compliance with SHEM (Safety Health Environment Management) standards and LTO requirements.
  • Responsible for production budget realization and the realization of fixed and variable costs.
  • Responsible for producing within the operating window.
  • Responsible for asset utilization (GAP analysis).
  • Responsible for the performance Polyethylene as a member of the Plant Management Team (PMT).
  • Responsible for the interface to the business by participating in Strategic and Operational Planning meeting.
  • Responsible for alignment with business for the optimal planning of maintenance activities at minimum Running Business costs and maximum Running Business output.
  • Responsible for managing the Operations Support department including performance assessments, supervision of employees.
  • Deputize for the Senior Manager Operations as and when required.

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • Academic level of working and thinking, preferably chemical technology.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in managerial position within manufacturing preferably in petrochemical industry.
  • Knowledge of Operations & Manufacturing (Excellence) Processes.
  • Knowledge of Management Systems.
  • Experienced in leading and facilitating organizational changes.
  • Knowledge of and experience in project management.
  • Dutch and English language skills
  • Experienced in HAZOP, /RCA and familiar with SHE regulation, law and legislation in NL.
