To support manufacturing management site Geleen in achieving these objectives we are looking for an EHS Engineer to reinforce our EHSS SABIC site Geleen department and the polymer plants.


JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

 The primary task and responsibility of the EHS Engineer is to Optimizing the care for health and safety within SABIC's various production locations, Geleen site. Professional advice and active support of management and operational staff towards continuous improvement of H&S care and the realization of objectives in this area.

 

MAIN TASKS

 Owner and project leader of improvement initiatives in the field of EHSS, with regard to processes and procedures as well as behavioral and culture aspects for improving the EHSS performance and driver of the EHSS transformation plan.

  • Training and coaching of colleagues within the organization in specific H&S areas.
  • Support, guidance and coaching of operational safety experts (SHEM-analysts) within the various production facilities.
  • Developing, implementing and optimizing Health and Safety related training.
  • Actively participate in various consultations such as Site EHSS team meetings
  • Supporting and, where appropriate, making a substantive contribution to incident investigation.
  • Stimulate learning from incidents.
  • As owner/manager, implementing, auditing and optimizing elements of the Operational Safety Management System, including safeguarding of local laws and regulations.
  • Functioning as Subject Matter Expert (eg work permit/LOTO, PPE, Factory Safety Instruction, LMRA, security, REACH, Chemicals Management, Industrial Hygiene/ AH, Emergency Response).
  • Implement and support Corporate initiated initiatives.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 Technical HBO (Bachelor equivalent) Degree working and thinking level.

  • A completed HVK training, at least 5 years work experience in a comparable position and working environment, preferably SKO certified.
  • Tactical and strategic communication skills and able to act at different levels (internal and external) as an EHSS representative of SABIC.
  • Experience in setting up and providing training.
  • Provide solicited and unsolicited advice to management on EHSS aspects
  • Completed AH training is a plus.
  • Experience with contractor management, projects and turnarounds is a plus.
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language, both written and oral
