Job Summary
Within the ETP WEST organization, the MDTS organization is responsible for Market Development and Technical Service for Engineering Thermoplastics for the Automotive Segment. The mission of the Market Development & Technical service Engineer is to develop the business in the Automotive and Trucks segment in Germany and bordering countries.
In this position the candidate will focus her/his effort on new business development project at new and/or existing Tiers and OEM’s in close cooperation with Commercial, Marketing and T&I teams.

Main responsibilities:
- Identify new business opportunities and clarify customer technical needs.
- Secure effective implementation/commercialization of new products in collaboration with key
- external (customers) and internal stakeholders (e.g. Sales, Business Management, Technology).
- Support running business (documentation, troubleshooting)
- Strongly promote and increase market awareness of portfolio & solutions (tradeshows, press releases, webinars, articles, etc.),
- Conduct market research and analysis.
- Monitor, understand and influence the market trends and drive implementation of identified consequences in the organization.
- Create intimacy with the full market value chain.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- Degree in polymers, mechanical/chemical engineering (or equivalent) (Msc preferred)
- >7 years’ industry experience, with proven track record in technical service or technical sales, business development and/or market development
- Fluent German + fluent English are a must
- Ability to lead, direct, guide, plan & develop new projects and programs to customers.
- Experience in application development, polymer processing is preferred.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 30-50%)
- Being located in Germany or in a bordering country
Competencies,
- Balance of short-dated technical support activities and long-term market-facing related activities
- Multi product knowledge in polymer products is required, Engineering thermoplastics product knowledge is an advantage
- Good listening and presentation skills,
- High networking capabilities
- Classification: Internal Use
- Good track record of execution and delivery of results
