Job Summary
The Production Associate is responsible for communicating daily activities, reporting to the Group Leader/Team Leader. This includes the status of each assigned area, processing problems, training issues, equipment problems, maintenance problems and safety issues. The Production Manager oversees the entire Production Department with all Production personnel reporting to them. The Production Associate will follow the tasks given to them by the Production Manager, Team Leader, or Group Leader, functioning as a member of an area. Production Associates are responsible for completing all tasks related to their job area. Production Associates must have the ability and willingness to work on an assigned 12-hour shift, which may include working nights, weekends, holidays, and a reasonable level of scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
How You Can Be the Impact
- Conducting various physical activities and mental reasoning in the manufacturing of plastic resin and pellet products.
- Manipulation of controls (operating a computer-controlled system while observing production processes); and observing, correcting and recording instrument readings
- Lifting materials, connecting line/tank hook-ups; conducting area housekeeping, collecting samples, operating a forklift, and cleaning equipment are also regularly occurring duties.
- Follow applicable work processes, communicate effectively to other teams and team members, and complete the job specific training certification.
- Produce all customer or stock orders per supplied and documented schedule packet information, work instructions, material processing instructions (MPI’s), recipe information, DATA systems used, and SABIC Policies and Procedures.
- Maintain clean, efficient, and safe work areas.
- Effectively communicate nonconforming machine conditions, process conditions and test results to Group Leader and/or Team Leader.
- Perform analytical testing and/or use of laboratory instruments relating to temperature, pressure, volume, and/or weight.
- Effectively participate as a team member for all job functions in assigned work area.
- Perform any task assigned by the Group Leader, Team Leader, or AOL/Production Manager, as any task assigned shall be considered by the Production Associate as a requirement.
What Matters to SABIC
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills with internal and other external SABIC employees. Includes communication with multiple levels of the organization.
- Good organizational skills and ability to handle several tasks at a time, including the review of raw material availability and review of approved material substitutes.
- Knowledge of production planning or related experience a plus.
- Good computer skills. Good SAP skills preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel preferred.
- Strong knowledge of raw materials and LNP grade/colors this will also help Process Engineering to maximize line efficiencies or if Product Development/Trials are needed.
- Strong knowledge of compounding operations and equipment capability.

- Applicants must be currently authorized to work for SABIC in the United States on a full-time basis.
- This role requires the ability to lift ~50lbs (25kg) as a job requirement for mixing operations or bagging off finished goods material. Applicants must be able to successfully lift 50lbs.

Work Availability
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
