In Cartagena, Spain, SABIC operates a major production site that manufactures engineering thermoplastics that enable our customers to product a wide range of products.

 

DEPARTMENT

 

The mission of this internship is to support the Maintenance team in improving the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) spare parts replenishment process and inventory management.

 

INTERNSHIP PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Main responsabilities are:

 

  • Analyze the current MRO process and develop procedures and/or reports (using Excel or Power BI) to optimize inventory management and improve traceability.
  • Identify low-turnover spare parts and propose management strategies.
  • Assess supply chain models to optimize cost balance and study change management strategies.
  • Identify suppliers and models to optimize the provision of generic materials.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Reliability teams to optimize inventory, coded materials, and safety stock levels.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of implementing barcode scanners in the warehouse, integrated with SAP, and develop a proposal on how this could enhance the current process.

The duration of the Internship is 6 months and there will be an evaluation at the end of the Internship.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Engineering students (either Bachelor or Master's Degree equivalent) in the Industrial branch, preferably with a focus on Organization and of a Technical Nature.
  • Soft skills: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, adaptability, and strong communication skills.
  • IT skills: SAP (desirable), MS Office (Excel, Access, Powerpoint), Power BI (a plus).
  • Basic knowledge in Inventory management, Supply chain processes, and MRO spare parts management.
  • High proficiency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Eligibility: The student must be registered at a Spanish Institution and/or University in Spain to participate in this Internship program (checks will be made as part of the process)

Location:

Cartagena, Spain – this role requires the individual to come to site on a daily basis
