Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic (Journeyman) is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of manufacturing equipment and support systems within assigned areas. Candidates must safely and effectively troubleshoot and repair designated equipment. Mechanics must be competent in the use of precision maintenance equipment such as laser alignment tools, etc. The position requires ability to organize and plan your work. A good history and feedback loop on work performed is necessary for the maintenance organization to grow and get better so a technician must be detail oriented and determined to complete this task daily.
How You'll Help Us Move Forward
- Has knowledge and can correctly complete all safety permitting necessary to perform tasks.
- Service, repair, calibrate and test various mechanical equipment and ensure that it is returned to a precision state.
- Ability to repair equipment that is primarily mechanical in nature.
- Can read and assess blueprints, schematics and equipment manuals.
- Plan to continuously learn on the job and in the classroom as technology changes.
- Ability to prioritize information used to troubleshoot problems in your area.
Core Requirements
- Journeyman’s Certification or equivalent in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance and 3 years Journeyman experience OR 5 years Journeyman experience with the expectation you will continuously work towards obtaining National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification.
- Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of chemical and manufacturing plant equipment such as gearboxes, pumps, bearings, hydraulic systems, seals, motors, blowers, etc.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills; basic computer skills.
- Must have the ability and willingness to work overtime and take call-ins as needed, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to acquire the demonstrated level of proficiency in WorkKeys® Assessment:
- Applied Mathematics: 4
- Workplace Documents: 4
- Graphic Literacy: 4
Physical Requirements: Candidates must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the position such as ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climbing and working at heights.
