Specialist, Procurement EUR & Latin America
Job Summary
Regional Specialist is responsible for the contract management and procurement of all assigned supplier relationships. Categories of responsibility may include, but are not limited, to business, regional direct materials, Capital Equipment, Construction Management, Contractor and Professional Technical Services and Environmental Consulting & Remediation.
Responsibilities include:
- Create and execute the Procurement Strategy for the assigned suppliers for company’s approach to the market that captures the business needs and maximizes SABIC leverage in terms of value and synergies within the region.
- Collaborate with global and other regional procurement Specialist in developing and implementing strategies and sourcing efforts that support Company profitability and growth, thus resulting in a positive impact to overall ETPW bottom line.
- Lead strategy creation, approach to market, contract creation, negotiation and implementation for all assigned categories/suppliers with value creation for the company as the expectation.
- Assess business requirements, qualify service providers, conduct competitive tenders, evaluate offers, award and negotiate contracts through efficient and effect category and contract management practices.
- Develop business cases and ‘should cost’ models for identified scopes; identify and utilize appropriate market intelligence in the analysis, document benefits & value creation, collaborate with the business to understand current & future spend, and agree on the critical success factors and business challenges for each strategy & contract.
- Challenge existing business concepts and sole/single source situations that arise.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts for strategies and contracting activities through effective business relationships to ensure compliance with policy and procedures.
- Lead the change management process through influence and knowledge sharing on innovative strategy implementations.
- Coordinate internal needs with external market and suppliers for rapid response in a dynamic market.
- Enable and champion the compliance mind set through a do-it-right-the-first-time frame of business – lead by example regarding all facets of compliance to legislation, standards and company requirements.
- Minimize overall risks through conformance with Procurement Policy, upholding EHSS standard and code of ethics with business partners.
- Segment supplier base and routinely schedule and review via post contract management, the suppliers’ KPI performance to ensure expectations are met and value is attained.
- Coordinate all activity with legal and Procurement teams to ensure robust strategies, contracts, KPI’s and continuous Improvement initiatives are in place and functional for Supply Chain.

- Ability to build, lead and coach teams and foster business relationships with and without direct authority Strong cultural awareness and diversity appreciation
- Knowledge of SABIC ETPW products/services; specific content experience within any SBU a plus Skilled in ERP system usage, specifically SAP
What Matters to SABIC
- BA in Industrial Management, Supply Chain Management (Procurement), Business Administration, Finance, Engineering (preferably Chemical, Industrial or Mechanical), or Economics or equivalent industry experience in Procurement with 5+ years’ experience in procurement-related roles
