Sales Development Manager EUR E&E


Are you looking for an international oriented and challenging career at one of the leading global engineering thermoplastic companies? We are looking for a Business Development Leader LexanTM Polycarbonate Film to join our professional European Commercial team.

You will become part of Functional Forms (FF), one of the Business Units within SABIC, where we have long standing relations with our customers. We work in a small, international and dedicated team, with a "can do" atmosphere, where you will be empowered to take decisions with regard to your customers.


The Electrical & Electronics (E&E) Segment team is part of the Global Segment organization and is responsible for the European E&E (LexanTM Polycarbonate Film) customers to join our professional European Commercial team. The E&E Segment team is working in close contact with the Mass Transportation (MT) and Specialty Glazing (SG) Segment teams as well as the Europe Commercial Distribution team and Supply Chain. Business Development Leader (BDL) Electrical & Electronics reports into the Business Leader E&E EMEA. This is a field focus commercial leadership role requiring a mix of commercial strengths and technical knowledge in the field in order to demonstrate credibility and expertise both at direct customers and our distribution network.




  • Accountable & Responsible for the Film sales revenue/profitability in the nominated territory (Benelux, UK, Nordic, Eastern Europe)
  • Work closely (and independently as required) with our distribution partners in the regions to specify & acquire new business
  • Develop a leadership position at the target customer base with a view to protect and grow our share with current and new portfolio products
  • Understand and be able to clearly articulate emerging product and technical and quality needs and expectations from the customer base
  • Work closely with other functions (Inside sales, QA, TDE, PM etc) in order to deliver premium supply and quality towards our customer base
  • Work closely with T&I and PM colleagues in order to be first point of contact around new initiatives or project ideas for consultation with the customer base
  • Penetrate and build relationships at the targeted customer’s executive level to fully understand needs that can be converted into relevant FF solutions
  • Be first point of contact for Quality or complaint follow up in order to derive optimal outcome and opportunity from the situation
  • Translate key technologies and validate new technologies at targeted customers through in depth knowledge of OEMs strategy, specification and decision making processes
  • Be recognized by customers as expert in knowledge and relevant technical areas
  • Be able to negotiate and close claim settlements as they may arise to the satisfaction of the customer at lowest possible cost
  • Negotiate and implement price increases/decreases as the market dictates
  • Forecast expected sales volumes as required
  • Articulate a growth strategy for the regions involved, competitive threats and suggest responses
  • Ability to navigate the complexities of our distribution network and customer inter-relationships
  • Develop a yearly plan for your region in consultation with the Commercial Leader




  • Approximately 7+ years of relevant commercial & technical experience
  • Technical background, Polymer, Processing and Characterization Technologies
  • A hands-on practical approach to problem solving at customer level
  • A “Hunter” type mentality to go after and win new business
  • Be a self-starter and highly motivated to win new business
  • Excellent written & verbal communication in English
  • Location can be flexible, home office depending on location
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player who possesses a strong desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, goal oriented organization
  • Ability to manage complex business situations
  • Have a stable performance under pressure, time management and prioritization
  • Previous experiences in the security printing industry is a plus
  • Field role requiring approx. 40-50% travel mostly within the region
