Job Summary

The Technical Department is the center of expertise for Engineering at the Bergen op Zoom site. It delivers expert knowledge to all facilities with a focus on the chemical and compounding plants. The organization of the Technical Department consists of multiple subgroups: Process Engineering, Asset Engineering, Process Control, Inspection, Process Safety Management, Project Development & Control and Energy & Sustainability.

The Asset Engineering team is responsible for the site`s asset reliability and availability performance, servicing our Chemical and Compounding Operation units. Activities are technical and methodological by nature and interface with other departments on site such as Operations, Maintenance as well as Project Management and Project Execution.

How You’ll Help Us Move Forward

• You will be managing the Asset Engineering team comprising of +/- 15 professional engineers. You are a passionate leader who understands what it takes to get the best out of people and what they need to excel.
• You are creating and delivering the asset replacement strategy for the site and are improving the site`s technical reliability in a cost-effective way.
• You will be technical lead for initiation and implementation of improvement and replacement projects in alignment with strategic unit business goals.
• As chair(person) of the Value Driver “Reliability & Maintenance” you are key contributor to this part of the operating rhythm.
• As spokesperson of Asset Engineering for our production units, you are service oriented and know how to translate a technical issue or opportunity into a clear assignment for someone within your team. 
• As member of the PMT (Plant Management Team) you represent Technical and work together with other members to align support on issues and opportunities such that a balanced deployment of resources adds the best value to our plants. 
• As member of the technical department management team you support the Technical Sr. manager with proposals to improve the performance of the department. You drive the assigned department plan items towards completion; you support the department activities to achieve the targets specified in department plan and KPI's.

Core requirements

• Bachelor, master’s degree or demonstrable equal degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering/civil engineering (and/or relevant technical degree)
• Minimum 10-15 years’ working experience in asset engineering, reliability engineering and/or leading technical projects
• Have demonstrated manufacturing management skills at advanced / senior level.
• Can fluently express yourself in English and Dutch, speaking as well as writing. 
• Can build good and effective working relationships with people at different levels in the organization.
• Have excellent conceptual, communication, influencing and analytical skills
• In depth knowledge of interconnecting Business Units and Functions across Industry
• Excellent presentation and network skills
