Job Summary
The Technical Department is the center of engineering expertise at our Bergen op Zoom site. The team provides expert technical knowledge and support across our chemical and compounding operations. The Technical Department includes Process Engineering, Asset Engineering, Process Control, Inspection, Process Safety Management, Project Development & Control and Energy & Sustainability.
The Asset Engineering team is responsible for improving the site’s asset reliability and availability across our chemical and compounding operations. The team combines technical expertise with a strong focus on reliability, working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Project Management and Project Execution.
How You’ll Help Us Move Forward
As Senior Manager, Asset Engineering, you will lead a team of approximately 15 professional engineers and help create an environment where people can perform at their best, develop their expertise and deliver meaningful results.
You will:
- Lead the Asset Engineering team and provide direction, coaching and support to help team members excel.
- Develop and deliver the site asset replacement strategy, balancing technical needs, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Improve the technical reliability and availability of site assets.
- Provide technical leadership for the initiation and implementation of improvement and replacement projects in alignment with strategic business goals.
- Chair the Reliability & Maintenance Value Driver and contribute to this part of the site’s operating rhythm and performance.
- Serve as the Asset Engineering spokesperson for our production units, translating technical issues and opportunities into clear priorities and assignments for your team.
- Represent Technical on the Plant Management Team (PMT), working with other members to align resources and address issues and opportunities across the site.
- Support the Technical Sr. Manager in improving departmental performance.
- Drive assigned department priorities to completion and support delivery against department plans and KPIs.
- Build strong working relationships across functions and levels of the organization to ensure technical expertise is effectively connected to business needs.
Core requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or demonstrable equivalent qualification in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or another engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in asset engineering, reliability engineering and/or leading technical projects
- Demonstrated leadership experience at an advanced / senior level, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Can fluently express yourself in English and Dutch, both spoken and written.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships with people at different levels and across functions.
- Excellent conceptual, communication, influencing and analytical skills.
- Broad understanding of how business units and functions work together within an industrial environment.
- Excellent presentation and networking skills.
- In depth knowledge of interconnecting Business Units and Functions across Industry
