Master Planner, Supply Chain

DEPARTMENT

Within the Petrochemicals SBU, Supply Chain Planning (SCP) Solids is part of the European Supply Chain Management department (SCM) for Solids and is responsible for processes such as demand planning, sales & operations planning (S&OP), production planning and replenishment planning. European Polymer Plants and related Polymer flows to and from Europe are in scope.

 

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The SCP department contributes to optimizing business revenues, costs and working capital, by matching demand with our supply capabilities and securing an uninterrupted Order to Cash process. Balancing logistical costs and customer service levels often implies making tradeoffs, usually in close alignment with Business Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Technology and other Supply Chain departments.
The MP interprets and translates the outcome of the S&OP of the assigned value team(s) into a feasible production plan and is as such responsible for the short-term product availability and stock levels. This also requires pro-actively identifying (potential) issues, clear and timely communication to a diverse set of stakeholders and showing ownership in solving problems in cooperation with all parties involved, keeping in mind the balance between costs and service.

Some key activities in the role:
•    Create constrained production plan for 3-6 months horizon to ensure Availability To Promise for all SKUs.
•    Manage stock levels in multiple locations across Europe, monitor supply plan accuracy in close alignment with manufacturing and take appropriate action where needed.
•    Owner of the stock quality, such as product mix and age.
•    Manage the internal supply process (within Europe and x-pole).
•    Balance manufacturing and supply chain KPI’s while ensuring agreed service levels.
•    Propose product planning strategies, economic batch sizes and safety stocks.
•    Keep track of committed supply plan and resolve issues with the different stakeholders.
•    Balancing regional and global needs.
•    Optimizing asset utilization.
•    Drive continuous improvement initiatives. 

 

MINIMUM EDUCATON/BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

•    Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business
•    Additional education in Supply Chain Management (e.g. APICS) would be an asset
•    Very good command of English language, Dutch or Spanish would be an asset
•    3-5years of experience in Supply Chain Planning
•    Experience with SAP (ECC, APO) and reporting tools and comfortable using it
•    Effective communication skills 
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Action-,business- and result-oriented
•    Proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements
•    Team player able to build and maintain business relations at different organizational levels
•    Stress resistant and able to set the right priorities
•    Accurate and self-reliant
•    Good decision-making skills even in case of uncertainty
