Engineer Production Planning

SABIC is now hiring an Engineer, Production Capability Functional Forms on the Bergen op Zoom Site.

 

Functional Forms (FF) manufacturers and sells high quality Lexan* film and sheet to customers around the world in a broad spectrum of industries and applications. These include building and construction, business machines, electrical and electronics, displays, aircraft, appliances, automotive, greenhouse, industrial roofing, medical, telecommunications, sign and packaging.

 

Manages the manufacturing activities in Bergen op Zoom for FF. Directs through subordinate supervisors and engineers the achievement of EHSS, Production, Quality, and Employee development deliverables in an effective, timely manner. Scope is six production lines, ~ 75 FTE.

 

JOB PURPOSE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively coordinating the operational plan with Supply Chain Management and setting rules for translations to the plant schedule together with the Line scheduler in order to maximize efficiency.
  • Together with the staff and operational team, ensure plant safety, capacity (output) and quality targets are realized on a daily base.
  • Providing technical expertise in the daily operations of the unit, assist Operations in resolving gaps between production versus plan (quality and quantity).
  • By using SAP data, analyzing and allocating production losses, optimizing the raw material usage, driving FPY and NPY targets beyond current levels.
  • Working with the PAL, Engineer, Investment Projects and Analyst Compounding Operations FF MC in order to improve technical reliability and stability, minimizing Asset availability losses based on OEE+ data.
  • Analyzing operational parameters and identifying actions to improve overall current operational performance on OEE+, cost, service safety. Ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Interfacing with the technology team to improve processing conditions, material quality, support Direct Materials cost out initiatives and New Product Introductions

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • BSc./MSc. or demonstrable level in engineering (e.g. mechanical, chemical, industrial).
  • A dynamic and enthusiastic personality with 3-5 years of experience in an operational environment. You have (or are capable) understanding of our products and manufacturing processes. You have understanding of the sales and operations planning process and knowledge of the different conversion costs associated with product mix.
  • You have a high energy level and excellent interpersonal skills; you are able to provide people the information to perform their assigned roles. Also you can give encouragement, guidance and direction to others to improve performance.
  • You are a valued player ín our company and a positive representative of the team outside of the plant.
  • You know how to effectively use statistical tools for (SAP) data analysis and are able to collect relevant data to identify improvements or troubleshoot process problems.
  • Solid English and Dutch language-skills.
