Job Summary:
Within the Core product Technology and Innovation team, which is focused on supporting all the commercial products Specialties has to offer, there is an opening for a scientist position at our Bergen op Zoom location.
How You Can Be The Impact
- Identify and evaluate new raw materials for commercial products to ensure continuous supply to customers.
- Regularly interact with different functions including commercial, manufacturing, sourcing and business management teams.
- Support regulatory teams to ensure compliance of our products (UL, Food contact, Water management)
- Work with appropriate region’s stakeholders to ensure good engagement and communication. Drive execution engaging local team members to ensure timely delivery of technical solutions.
- Support manufacturing or tolling programs, manufacturing production capability translations, manufacturing investigations, productivity and cost-out solutions
- Provide strategic recommendations, process improvements to improve efficiency.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports of investigations.
- Actively contribute to safety and housekeeping programs
Main activities are focused on driving value delivery to Specialties SBU by providing technical expertise on all products and compounding process technologies for the EUR region. Being a technical contact point for cross-functional partners such as commercial, manufacturing, sourcing and business management teams to promote existing products in new customer/market/application, resolving technical service requests, providing compounding expertise for scale-up of new products and driving asset and surety of supply projects for the region by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Owning all aspects of projects by applying good project management practices and communicating to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
What Matters to SABIC
- Ph. D. degree in polymer science, polymer engineering or chemical engineering or other chemistry related major. Master degree in similar majors with 5+ year working experience in the industry of plastics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to effectively work with individuals at all levels of the organization and across functional disciplines (e.g. business leaders, customers, technicians, engineers, and manufacturing teams)
