Administrator, Maintenance SHEMS

Job Summary

 

An Administrator Maintenance SHEMS primary responsibility is ensuring a safe and healthy workplace, fostering a safety-conscious culture, and managing the risks related to the activities at site.

 

For Maintenance this is achieved by supporting the teams in the field to executing the works in a safe and pragmatical way. This involves implementing and enforcing safety procedures, conducting inspections, providing training, and investigating accidents.

 

As Administrator Maintenance SHEMS you will report directly to the Sr. Manager Maintenance and will be part of the Maintenance Staff team. As a team you will be working together to meet the EHSS Maintenance targets as a department and as part of the Bergen op Zoom site. You will work to support safe execution of works and work together on EHSS improvements.

 

Working Hours

 

This function is a day job function.

Balance Indoor / Outdoor: 60 / 40%

How You Can Be the Impact

 

You will ensure that EHSS will always have the highest priority and checks that within Maintenance the works are executed according the applicable EHSS standards, procedures & instructions. The Administrator Maintenance SHEMS:

 

SAFETY CULTURE

  • Actively promotes the safety culture.
  • Addresses people when they (do not) show proper EHSS behavior.
  • Actively ensures that the set EHSS Maintenance targets are met.
  • Is responsible for the initiation and implementation of EHSS improvement projects within Maintenance.
  • Guarantees the compliance with the EHS rules on the shop floor and stimulates actively safe behavior on the shop floor.

 

STANDARDS, PROCEDURES & TRAINING

  • Creates and implements new procedures.
  • Provides support in developing, maintaining, and providing EHSS training for maintenance (For example: EHSS Introduction Training for new Maintenance personnel).
  • Has a role in the preparations (VGWM plan, TRA, Introduction Training, etc.) for the Maintenance Turn Around and ensures EHSS compliance during execution.
  • Supports and audits our OMS Safety Standards, like permit system, TRA, LOTO, MOC and HAZOP.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains Maintenance Specific EHSS programs including the applicable supporting processes / standards. For example, OMS Safety Standards, Workshop Inspections and Improvements, Contractor Yard Safety Inspections, and Improvements, etc.
  • Facilitates training compliance by keeping overview of 100% completion of EHS-trainings and shares the results with the line managers.
  • Responsible for management and disposal of dangerous substances and chemical waste coming from the Maintenance activities and workshops. Ensures compliance with legislation and SABIC Standard.

 

INVESTIGATION & COMMUNICATION

  • Keeps contact with the teams at all levels in the different plants.
  • Leads the investigations of incidents and (near) accidents (level c) for Maintenance to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Provides weekly feedback on submitted concerns to the Maintenance team and staff.
  • Coordinates with and provides support to the Site EHSS Department.
  • Functions as an EHSS “consultant” for Maintenance and its hired contractors.
  • Can act as a coordinator / mediator for Maintenance with external contacts in relation to the EHSS Site Policy.
  • Shares the outcome of incidents / (near) accidents and relevant concerns in a toolbox.

 

What Matters to SABIC

  • Sufficient knowledge of policy, government legislation and regulations in relation to the environment and external safety.
  • Sufficient knowledge of compounding and chemical units and process safety.
  • Has some background in Maintenance and / or projects.
  • Has a suitable EHSS education. Minimum MVK Degree or equal.
  • Is capable in getting, enlarging and sustain commitment of the people in terms of safety.
  • Pro-active and result driven mindset, including proven perseverance.
  • Is sufficient in the Dutch and English language in both speaking and writing.
